To help you without confusing you, i have created the below example, infact this is the exact method i followed for my application:

Assuming that you are making $100,000 per annum since 2015 and you have worked for 4 different companies and your family size has been 5 since 2015, I have filled the section 14 of form in year-wise fashion, and I would suggest you to pick gross income mentioned in your NOAs.

For your employment from 2018-01-01 to present, you can total the salary as per your paychecks. Make sure you leave no gaps inbetween the dates. Hopefully this helps!

Thanks a lot for your help. This clarifies a lot and helps.

Thanks. I have put 3 in all years except 2015 because they didn't visit me in that year. Is this okay?

Could you please help me through the following questions:
- IMM 008 (Generic application): Question current country of residence- Since i will be putting Canada as they are living with me, what dates should i put in this question. I have put "From date" the date they landed but not sure sure about the "To date", should i use expected date of leaving the country?
- Re UCI: I went through the answers provided in the past, so i will leave UCI fields blank for my parents.
- What address should i use for question 1 and 2 in contact information for my parents? Question is provide current mailing and residence address, they are living with me, so should i provide Canadian address? or current address that is in back home?

Thank you.

Guys, me and wife are sponsoring my parents and I have 1 unmarried brother but not inviting him. I understand that my dad will be Primary applicant & mom will be his dependent, however, In the form IM0008 Generic application Ques# 3 asks how many members are included in this application.
Under instruction guide it says this -

"Indicate the total number of family members included in your application. This includes yourself and any family members, regardless of whether they intend to accompany you to Canada or not."

Now I am confused if my answer should be 2 or 3. Do I have to count my brother here? The reason I am confused it because in Form IMM5768 for Ques 3(A) i mentioned that there are 2 ppl in my current undertaking but I noticed that this question references to IM0008 Ques#3. Can someone please help me understand this? Help is appreciated in advance.

Please i need help....

I will be sponsoring my parents (dad and mum) and my 21 year old brother. My mum (principal applicant) is currently visiting in the states and she will be in canada next month to sign all the documents. I have a few questions;

1. The background declaration form has to be filled by all three applicants. My dad and brother currently live in Nigeria. The last part of form IMM 5669 says that “i agree that by typing my name electronically, i am electronically signing my application” is that enough or do I need to type their names and send it to Nigeria to sign it then send back to me? Or can they just sign and scan back to me? Same question applies to form IMM 5406 (additional family information) can they fill, sign and scan to me or does it have to be signed and sent via courier.

2. My family consists of me, my husband and daughter (3) and we are sponsoring my parents and my brother (3) making us a family of 6 based on income requirements. In form IMM 0008 ( generic application form), question 3 “how many members are in the application” will that be 3 ie my mum (principal applicant), my dad and my brother? Or 6 which includes all of us ?

Dear All,

I know there is now a raffle draw system. For which, you have to show your interest and just put in the names.
Then if you're lucky and your name has been pulled out, you have a window of some days/month in which you have to file in your complete application.

I also know about the LICO thing/minimum salary requirement for last 3 years, in order to be eligible to apply.

I just want to hear from somebody out there, who has done this process ON THEIR OWN.

My mother, who currently has a 10 year Visitor Visa (not Super Visa) for Canada.
Now, i want to apply for her Permanent Residency.

Kindly guide me through as to what docs you had assembled for the application. What hurdles you came across (if any). Fees, application number, time period, etc.

Also if there are any readers, who hired a consultant to do this work for them, kindly pitch in and guide us all, as to what paperwork/docs the consultant had asked for and went in with the actual application.

Thanks in advance.
What you need is to apply for Parents/Grandparents sponsorship so that you can sponsor your mom to be Permanent Resident. In order to do this, you would need the followings:
First, you need to check if your total income is enough to sponsor your parents. The required incomes are varied based on your family size at the time you submit the application. IRCC will need to see your qualified 3-year consecutively incomes before your application. For example, if you plan to apply for sponsorship for your mom in 2019, you must have qualified income for 2016-2017-2018.
Secondly, you will need submit the "Express of Interest" to sponsor for your parents. This is done via online form submission. The online form will be available from IRCC website approximately from January 2, 2019 until February 1, 2019 (1 month)
IRCC will select 10,000 people who submit the express of interest and will invite them to apply for sponsorship

All of the above are explained in details via IRCC website, here:

Good luck

Hi Guys, i am filling out the schedule A background information for my dependent brother. In our country, after high school there is a break of 2-3 months before university starts. Do i have to fill in that gap as well ? (as other , break before uni started) or should i leave it and show the gap of 3 months ?

Then there is no need to pay $25. That's just a cash grab from everyone entering the lottery. Serves no purpose. The way you have described says that the current system is perfect.
Yes that's right, basically any way they can think of to get 10,000 eligible apps submitted, means the system is working well enough. If they can get the 10K apps without need for fees, bans, or any other process that takes more resources to track and monitor... then all the better.
Perhaps what they did this year (including detailed instructions at lottery and accepting 15K apps in anticipation some may be ineligible) is good enough.

Its a choice, you can put T4 values too, but given that the IRCC officer might not even look at T4s and just go by NOAs, i want to save their time and eventually save on the processing time (may not that significant, but any saved time is worth). Also IRCC will be more interested din knowing how much total you made in the fiscal year. That's my take on it.
It's not a choice. T4 is not an acceptable document to prove income. The ONLY document that IRCC states is allowed, is your official CRA tax return. Nothing else will be looked at or considered.
