If the sponsor is a Canadian citizen but does not have a Canadian passport, can he just send a copy of his Canadian Citizenship certificate that he received during the oath ceremony? Or is it mandatory for the sponsor to apply for a Canadian passport and send the copy of his Canadian passport?

Is there anyone here who just sent a copy of his Canadian Citizenship certificate as a proof of his Canadian citizenship?

Thanks.

I emailed the embassy and immigration office with my concern but just in case I don't get a reply soon your advice is much appreciated. Thanks!

(Dependant's Passport)
Hello All,
I have a problem with my younger brother's passport. We cant get a new valid passport due to his middle name's clerical error, we have to fix it first in the Philippines before we can get him one probably it will take 6 months or so.. What Im going to do? My deadline is nextmonth bfore May 25th. I need your advice & suggestion please. Im just worried that it might caused our PGP application denied or rejected.
My mom had a problem with her name because there was "Maria" in her birth certificate that she did not know all along, she just went to a lawyer to have an affidavit that she is the same person, once you have that affidavit you can apply for a passport using the name in the NSO birth certificate, it should not take that long. One day for the affidavit, then applying for a passport - that I am not sure maybe pay for rush processing. However get some documents ready to backup previous names used like secondary Form 137, baptismal certificates and government ID's. It should be fine, it is doable. Make sure also to make photocopies of the affidavit, colored scanned copies would be better, the originals will not be returned to you when submitted for passport application, the immigration will take photocopies of the affidavit, you will need to have an explanation letter of the name change and attach the affidavit with that. You can just write a simple one indicating that it was a clerical error and you were advised to follow what is written on the birth certificate. Whenever you will be asked for an NBI clearance for your brother I am sure they will require AKA of the other name used, just like my mom's, however it is easy to do, the main office does that just make sure you fill out the online application with the AKA that the immigration asked and it will be printed with that...

Thanks for the reply..But the DFA office advised us to fix the problem in his PSA birth eventhough they have supporting documents, he have an old passport that his middle name is correct. In his PSA birth, his middle name is incorrect and they need to file a case and send it to main office which is in Manila. They told my parents to wait 4-6mos. I will probably send my brother's old passport with an explaination.

Do you live in Quebec Moheb?

That is probably why they want you to correct his birth certificate instead of following what is in you brother’s birth certificate. My mom never had a passport so when she applied she was advised to follow what was on her birth certifcate instead of changing it which an affidavit was enough. I would send an inquiry to the visa office in the web form I amsure they will consider and the they will wait as long as you send them documentation of what is going on so swnd them copies of everything...

Hi
I have a question which I believe could be for many of us here, I believe public health wont cover drugs and disability for our parents as PR holders. anyone has an idea how much it will cost approximately to get a private insurance to cover these?

It’s very important for me to know so any information would be appreciated. Already asked for a quote but didn’t get any answer yet.
Thanks
