You would ensure that there are no large, last-minute deposits in your account + you would not use your business finances to pay for your visit.

Does your wife have a joint/shared access to your bank account? Any joint financial investments which can easily be liquidated, if required?
Right - one of my accounts is joint with my wife. The other one is not and I am providing both as a proof for my financial means. My wife has her own job and salary account which I will attach with the application. The question again is, what amount should I put in her application for funds available for the trip?

She would state the amount available to her i.e. in the joint account + her salary account. She cannot state CAD 15,000.

She would also mention in the cover letter that she is traveling with you, and that's why there are shared expenses + you will be paying for the airfare/expenses with your finances.

If you reapply as paper submissions, she must include your bank statements, etc

Great - thanks
I am filling in the 'Eligibility to apply' questionnaire. One of the question is
Do you have a family member who is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident and is 18 years or older?
The definition of a family member is "An applicant's closest relatives, in the context of an application to IRCC. It is defined as a spouse or common-law partner, dependent children, and their dependent children."
So in my case, since I have my uncle (mom's brother) in Canada (citizen). He is not considered to be a family member true?

No, based on the IRCC definition, he is not a 'family member'.

You can mention about your uncle in the cover letter + his invitation and other documents + proof of relationship (if possible by proving your mom and uncle have the same parents)

Hi,
Myself and my wife applied for a visitor visa (from Pakistan) to Canada but got refused. The only reason that was checked was 'Purpose of Visit'. I am not really sure what went wrong there. We have visited many countries including Malaysia, SriLanka, Dubai, Europe, England, USA (multiple times) and wanted to visit canada as tourists. On the application I mentioned that we dont have any family (Siblings, Parents, kids etc) in Canada. We have an Uncle (mom's brother) in canada and on the IMM5257 form, i gave their address and name as a reference.
We applied for 3 weeks stay where 1 week was with uncle and 2 weeks of Hotel booking.
I did not provide Flight itinerary nor any letter from my Uncle. Could this be the reason?

I am planning on reapplying - I would appreciate any help that you can provide in this case.

regards,
Mubashir
