But anyone who is moaning when it’s not even been 12 months, come on.
I am waiting of course, but i see no harm in expressing my views during the wait. I understand you're taking a different position which is fine, and that's what enriches the discussions here.

The wait wouldn't bother me that much if my PR wasn't expiring soon... so i'm pretty much "not allowed" to travel for any vacation/ urgent family issue until Scarborough office clears the backlog.

If they issue Oath at current pace (or Unless they get a full-time judge) then i'd say you'd need to wait atleast till end of May or sometime in June. Wishing you a good luck.
Generally how much of a notice do they give when inviting for the ceremony? 2 weeks or 3 weeks? or even more? if i assume my oath will be in june, when can i expect the invite.. beginning of may?

It's not about us having different views. We agree in principle - we all want this process to be quicker. But that doesn't mean it's reasonable to expect IRCC to deliver a service standard that is far superior to what they have outlined from the beginning of the process. That's simply an unrealistic expectation.

You have the right to renew your PR Card up to 9 months before the expiry date of your PR. And that's what I did, sent my application to renew pr card while citizenship application is in process to avoid any headache with delays and it took 2 months and half in total.. I am still waiting for oath but at least I am in peace of mind my travel plans wont be affected.. you could have done this as well..

There is no general rule but what i have seen in Scarborough is, usually 10-15 days. I suppose there is a brief average details somewhere on the tracking sheet.

we decided to change our address to Missisauga and requested the file to be moved there as Scarbourough has huge back log, let see how it works now
I was looking for some more information about IRCC policies, and came across their policy on address changes. I remembered this post and thought that some of the bits of information in it may be of interest.

A few items from IRCC policy on address changes (at https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/canadian-citizenship/admininistration/general-file-processing/sending-applications-changes-address.html):

Transfers should not occur within the Greater Toronto Area, except in exceptional cases.
and from the same document:

There may be instances where an officer believes that a change of address is not legitimate. Clients may change their address as a result of a perceived leniency in decision-making or quicker processing times at another office. If this is the case, the officer should request from the client more information on the change of address. If the officer is still not satisfied with the additional information, or if the client does not supply the officer with it, the files remain in the original office and the client is notified.
and also:

The local office will transfer the file to the new office within six weeks of notification of change of address. (...) If a client inquires about a file transfer before the six week period, the Call Centre will advise the client to call back after the six week period for an update, if necessary.
So, there's a chance this move won't achieve anything. Worst case it may cause either an officer to try and validate that the move is legitimate (delay to send a query and await the response) or the move may be processed but incur a six week delay. And the receiving office can have its own policies on how to integrate the file into their workload, so that may also trigger a delay (or the opposite, of course, but that is not information that is publicly available).

Just wanted to chime in on this issue. I took the test Feb 8 and got DM Feb 9 at Scarborough CIC. The interview officer specifically said that "although the website etc say that the oath date will be within the next 6 months or so, you should probably be getting an oath date in a month or two." Reading this forum and looking at the spreadsheet however, its hard to believe about getting an oath letter anytime soon.

One of the September applicants in Scarborough got an oath invite. I don't understand anything anymore... seems all our calculations and predictions are just imagination!:D
