Hello friends,

Wishing everyone a very prosperous 2018.

I live in Canada for over 3.5 years. Came here as a post grad student and now a PG work permit holder until 2019/June. I am eligible to apply for my PR as I have finished 1 year at my current job where my profile falls under NOC B category.

My wife lives in India and wants to join me here as it has been way too long we are apart. I am preparing to submit my express entry profile in March 2018. At the moment here's what I want to know:

Question 1 - Is there any way that I can include my wife in my express entry profile as a dependent even though she is in India?

Question 2 - What else formalities that she needs to complete except for IELTS, Medical and police clearance?

Please suggest as this is my final chance to bring her over here.

Thanks everyone.

1. Yes, that is very common. You will just choose India as her country of residence. Also make sure that you add her as "Accompanying".
2. Medical, police certificate(s), passport(s), and photos. IELTS and Education are optional for the spouse and you don't need them if you are not claiming points for them.
Good Luck!

Does she need to go through an interview as well? And where would that be if yes?
It is unlikely and very rare that IRCC requests an interview for PR applicants. So, none of you or your wife would need an interview during the PR application processing. Good Luck!

Thanks for the reply. I know that in Canada we don't need to go through an interview. But I thought since she is in India she might have to go through one. I will be including her as "accompanying" in the application.

No, she will not need an interview just because she is not in Canada.
