After sending passport, how long does CIC take to stamp the visa

My final Final decision was "Your application was approved. You need to send us your valid passport to finalize your application. Check your messages below for details.Help - Final decision" and i send my passport to New Yourk on 22 December and was delivered on 26 December CANADIAN VISA APPLICATION CENTRE-NY. But after there is no more news, first of all what meas that my visa was approved and the second how many days more will take this proces???

After you send your passport, they will stamp and send back to you.

I applied online on 3 December
Passport delivered 12 December
29 December status approved and counterfoil
But now waiting for passport to be dispatch coz I have flight this weekend on Sunday 7 December

Hello everyone, I am very confused and I would really appreciate it if someone could clear my doubt. I have been requested to send my passport on the 24th of Dec 2017, and right after one day, my status changed to "visa approved" under final decision. Passport given to aramex, and delivered on the morning of 26th. Since then I never got any updates from Aramex or GCKey. However, today my GCkey got updated, I recieved a "correspondence letter". And after about an hour, another tab opened, it had my passport number, nationality, and it said "counterfoil". My question is, does this mean that my visa got stamped on my passport? Or that message has nothing to do with my visa being stamped? P.S: Abu Dhabi VAC. Thank you in advance

Hello, thank you for your quick response. I know that the visa is approved bro, but i want to know if that message on my GCkey account (MyCIC) means that my visa is stamped on the passport or still, do you have any idea?

Hi there. My return tracking number got activated today. It took a while, eh?

That's amazing! They definitely like taking their own sweet time!

My final decision changed to Approved on December 28th, 2017 and my visa number is now appearing on my cic portal as counterfoil. They are yet to ship the passport. I guess that will happen in a few days.

I submitted my passport to CPC Ottawa using express post. It was delivered on Dec 22nd. MyCIC portal says "your application is approved and we need your passport to finalise".
It has been more than 2 weeks, since my passport was delivered(as per Canada post tracking). But I am not sure whether it was actually delivered or not.

Did anyone else been through a similar situation?

Hi there,

I was in the same boat a few days back. I had to wait alomst 3 weeks after my passport was delivered to Ottawa to get an update. Hopefully my timeline is useful for you to get an idea on how long CIC is taking.

Application Submitted: Online for TRV (inside Canada) December 3rd
Request for Passsport: December 7th
Mailed Passport: December 8th via CanadaPost Xpresspost
Passport Delivered: Tracking number shows delivery on December 12th to Ottawa.
(Between the above and below step myCiC portal had the message "your application is approved and we need your passport to finalize")... So no update after they receive passport and before stamping of TRV.
Final decision changed to approved: December 28th, 2017

I am waiting for my return envelope tracker to get activated at the moment. You can always contact CIC using the webform or email them at CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca if you want an answer from them but they take about 7-8 calendar days to reply.
