SORRY for posting this in multiple thread, won't do it again...

#CIC_FrustratingPolicyChange2017 CIC changed parents sponsorship policy in Dec 2016, without analyzing it's bad impact. Now people who don't even qualify can show interest with those who qualify and seeking invite. So many spots are getting wasted ....

Your post makes zero sense, as CIC hasn't yet released any new info this Dec 2017 for next lottery.

Everyone already knows how bad it was run last year, that is old news now.

There are already multiple threads discussing this. Not sure I see the value in yet another one. Beating a dead horse with no added value.

My statement would make sense to those who are qualified and desperately waiting for update in policy.

Last year announcement was made about change in policy by this time, and was mentioned that in new year detail would be out, I hope your statement is correct, and CIC comes with updated policy for 2018 ...

It does not make sense, because in your statement you said Dec 2017, which does not make any sense at all as explained by Rob. It simply has not happened. Now if you say Dec 2016, then that makes more sense. Read twice, or read better.

IRCC made a policy change based on the frustration expressed by candidates in 2015 (some feel for the better, some not) and as with most bureaucracies, it was act first (gain popular support) and deal with repercussions later (leave it for the next government to clean up). No masters degree in rocket science needed to figure that out. Did it leave people out of the running, yup. Other that the .006% (being generous) of the population that applied, does anyone really care it was messed up? Probably not (hence, no loss of popular support as it isn't a particularly popular program anyway). Did they do it on purpose to minimize the applications....doubt it (if they couldn't see the disaster they were creating, I doubt they could see far enough ahead to plan for a reduction in applicants). Until the new requirements are established, there is no point in dragging up past errors (they won't, and can't be changed for last years lottery). PGP is not a priority for the government, so expecting the issue to come to the forefront is probably futile. Prepare as best you can, hope for the best and expect the worst.
.As mentioned, that horse is dead....leave it in peace

when i attended the Rally of Liberals before they were elected, PGP improvement is one of they key theme they keep repeating and then specifically mentioned family reunification INCLUDING PGP is their highest priority. They won my family and many other families because we naively believe in their honesty in keeping their promise. Look at what they did? PGP is now become their least priority and they instead trying to reduce the intake of pgp perhaps to make up for mass refugees import. We all know politicians lie all the time but this time they havd ensured that we are not gonna vote for them ever again!

That's what happens when you live in a country with responsible government. The ministers are responsible to the voter and the majority of the voters don't care or don't like the program.

Canada doesn't actually have to have a PGP program. It is actually a drain on the Canadian economy and services. Any politician speaking to a mostly immigrant crowd will mention PGP.

PGP didn't become the least priority, it always was the least priority and still is. People seem to forget the previous government simply cancelled the PGP program entirely for several years, which any future government could easily do as well if the program becomes too problematic again.

Nobody should be voting on a government based solely on their PGP promises. There are tons of other issues way more important. And unfortunately if you only vote for parties that will for sure not break any election promises, you will find there's nobody to vote for.

for sure, one should not vote on a government based solely on their PGP promises;

but can some help, if has any knowledge on following, when 2017 policy was updated and allowed to put all in same category (show interest) on basis of Just Name & Address, did someone even thought what would happen? or it was totally unexpected? I am curious to know what type of thought process was done...

3 working days (27 / 28 / 29) are left for this year ... let's hope for better change in policy for qualified people?
