Question.. Have no idea why I'm throwing this around in my head all of a sudden but.. Does the sponsor have to sign up for anything? Like for ecas or mycic?

We have sponsor approval already.

I (the PA) have a mycic account and have linked the pr app there. I also linked it through ecas using my last name.

There's no need for him (sponsor) to do doing anything right? I can just monitor it all through my mycic and my ecas?

Hi, I've sent our application on October 3rd and it was received on October 4 in the cic mailroom. I am a permanent resident and I am sponsoring my husband in the Philippines. I hope that the processing of applications will be much faster lol. I can't wait to finally start our life together.

How are you my name is Rusell and I'm from philippines too! I read your post regarding October 2017 submission of spousal sponsorship and we both the same date submitted. I got my AOR last tuesday 5 dec 2017 saying to link my application in mycic account. I tried to link but it doesnt work until now. Tried different ways also but unfortunate still not working. I passed 7 days to link and I phoned cic agent too and try to enter info that she gave but still no application found.

How about you kabayan, did you link your application already and how did you do it. Please if you already link your application through your online account please share it to me how you do it because I am a bit frustrated right now

Yes that email is SA.

the mycic is concerning the Applicant application so i believe that is for eligibility of applicant

I put in my place of birth, where I intend to live (same info that I put on the form that asked that), status as common law and number of people in app as 2. No passpoet info. Linked first time.

correct gckey and ecas for PA is what matters. you can also check the ecas for sponsor if you want to, just use the same application number and input the sponsors last name and DOB and POB and it will show you sponsors ecas.

I selected permanent resident, family class (spouses). Then used client ID and application number. Didn't put in birth place, I used my passport information and where I intend to stay in Canada. Put in the same info that was on your IMM008 form

you dont sign up for ECAS. ECAS is just to check status updates. you can go to https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/security.do and login with your application info.

Thanks again Posse. I have already submitted PCC and my spouse medical is passed last week itself. I understand this will take some time. just curious to know, do we get the status change for SA (after that email) in ecas?

For us, decision made for sponsor was first showing in ECAS, then we got the email for sponsor approval a few days later.
