If CRA gives you a temporary tax number does it mean that you can look for a job? Even you are waiting for your open permit?

You don't need a tax number to look for a job. You can look whenever you want but can't work until you have a work permit.

And also, the time i sponsor my common law partner the CRA holds my child tax, gst/hst etc. They asked for my partner SIN but i informed them that he doesn’t have it cause he dont have yet his open permit. Is that possible that my child tax will be back? Please advise. Thank you

Hello, I would like to know how to find Temporary tax number for my wife? I had recently applied for CCB and they responded stating my wife temporary tax number has been mailed like month back. However am yet to receive it, is there anyway to find out TIN apart from the physical mail?

There has been a postal delay due to Canada Post strike. No one knows how long letters would stuck there especially if they go overseas.

I think you can contact CRA for the number.

Again, due to Canada Post Strike. Call again and ask them to relay it to you verbally.

Tried today, they confirmed its sent on email. We can only wait, no verbal relaying over the phone.
