Wow! Really on the high side. I was asked if if could leave before 7th of December. My problem is them returning my passport say before 5th December. I know Accra averages 3 weeks to send pum, anyone can correct me if I am wrong?

On the contrary, your case would be fast tracked and you would get it even before December, if you decide early.
However, you need to be in Canada by December 5th, please don't leave Nigeria on the 6th, anything can happen to the flight, such as delays or weather issues.

Make your decision fast enough, I have a contact who gets me really cheap flights who I can hook you up with.

So much good news this week for others. Congratulations.

I hate being the downer here with our refused app. His PR application sat for 10 months before they could tell us his visitor visa refusal was an issue. The concern was about a financial statement.

I found one glimmer of hope in the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act:

Misrepresentation
60 (3) No appeal may be made under subsection 63(1) in respect of a decision that was based on a finding of inadmissibility on the ground of misrepresentation, unless the foreign national in question is the sponsor’s spouse, common-law partner or child.​

I suppose the fact that I can appeal for my husband gives us hope. If he wasn't family, there would be no hope. I'm stepping out for awhile. I will come back to this forum weeks/months from now and hopefully have a happy story to share. Thanks for all the support and prayers. Good luck to the rest of you.

@jellyfish_smile, @Cutie101 and house family a little tip: when searching for flights, do clear your browser cache every now and then (control+shift+delete) as these companies store cookies on your computer and keep increasing the prices each time you visit or search for a filght. You can can also see this sneakiness by using someone else's computer and you will see lower prices available for the same flight. You can also search in "incognito mode" if you are using Chrome and then they can't track you, but even that you get increased prices if you are in the same incognito browser for a while.
$2100 is waay too expensive. Especially for a one way ticket!

@HisAma, your situation is making me very sad because I have been in a situation like that before and honestly it's very hard to handle but please have a heart it shall be well. Regarding them holding your app for 10 months when they would have refused it immediately after receiving is not a big surprise. They knew if they refuse the app right away means they are saving you 1 year from the 5 years hence they kept it until the due date even though they knew it would be refused. You have a good case if you get a proof from the bank that the financial statement is genuine so don't get discourage just appeal to keep yourself step ahead. I was heart broken similar to your situation but I was able to overcomes so yes you can. Even when they called us to travel in 3 weeks we told them we can not we need to organized our plans so they can extend our medical or we redo the medical. You can contact AVO and voice the concerns if you don't get your passport back in time. Option 1 you would have to redo medicals and wait again and or option 2 ..suffer it out get your flight, pack up and be done with this whole process. I would choose option 2

given that we are almost in December and you can not leave Ghana in the next 3 weeks.
1. Re-do the medicals
2. Get a new passport express service given that it has to be valid 6 months and beyond with at least 2 pages available

yeah don't rush you already have the PPR so just get new passport and redo medical and get flight after January 27th flights reduce again ..

Congratulations to those that just received their PPRS.The storms and waiting periods are finally over.And for the couple they refused,the Most High will intervene and laughter shall fill your mouth in Jesus name.
What's more?Could it mean AVO has started to issue PPR letters to 2017 applicants? If yes,it is a good development.Meaning there is hope for most of us before 2017 runs out.
We shall all have reasons to be joyous ,happy and laugh in this coming week in Jesus name.
