when did you apply? mississauga is fast on their app goodluck!
Just put our timeline in my signature, but we they got our app July 20, 2017 and we got AOR 1 on Aug 25, 2017. We had some "technical difficulties" as they claim where we apparently were sent requests for Schedule A and PCC a long time ago but we never got the messages in our online account or emails. There is also nowhere to upload them on our online account. So we talked to several people on the phone and they kept telling us to send in an IRCC technical report and that the tech people would re-send the requests. I finally talked to one last person and they said to just submit the Schedule A through the IRCC form. Did that and soon after things got moving. Just wish I had known that from the beginning.

It's interesting you said they're fast because I thought I had heard applications were getting stuck in mississauga. I just started reading through the thread though on here.

Within 5 months of application received at the visa office or of application initially received? I've read the Mississauga outland thread this morning and it appears they don't update myCIC until the very end, so it sounds like a lot of waiting and silence :/.

application when initially received... so just 5 months total.. yea this waiting is getting frustrating specially because of the holiday season coming, I've read a bunch of posts that mississauga closes the app within 5 months rather than LVO which is 7-9 months... when did you apply? and what is your country of origin if you dont mind?

Interesting, good to know! Yeah I'm worried the holiday season will cause delays too. Everything is in my signature, from USA, AOR Aug 25.

Woke up to a message from CIC. Expecting BGIP next, I run to the computer.
"We need a Police Certificate from this other country too, which we didn't previously request"
I uploaded my PCCs nearly 2 months ago but luckily ordered this other countries just in case. ;)
I hope this hasn't delayed anything for me. . . . :(:oops::(

It delays in so far as they set your file aside and assign a bring forward date to it, a month or two in the future. They won't look at it again until the bring forward date and by that time hopefully you have submitted the requested docs (which I'm sure you will have)

:) A lot of people think they open an app and work on it continuously but it's not at all the case and frankly nothing would get done in a timely way if it was that way.
I didn't think that but I also didn't know about the bring forward date.

Every day's a school day! :D

Aw Man :( I uploaded the doc an hour after getting the email and I felt I was so "ahead" having done PCCs and Medical clearance 2 months ago.

The busiest part of this process is the beginning when they ask you to submit all these documents. It feels like it's moving, but in reality, it's not really. You're still completing the application for all intents and purposes. When it goes silent and it feels like nothing is happening....that is when it's moving. The officers are actually working on it! I know it sounds discouraging, but it means they are reviewing your s*** (so to speak). :) If they are asking for additional documentation it's because some part of it is in progress. Be patient and stay positive!

They do not put your file aside,
The whole process till granting PR is divided into small processes. In Every stage they are checking the application according to their set criteria and forwarding it to 2nd officer or department.
1st they make sure that application is complete, If it is complete then they forward it to another person
he will check application according to sponsor approval criteria.
after that they will forward it to another guy who will check the application requirements to forward it to V.O.
V.O will then check according to requirements they set for PR approval or BGC etc... in between all these moving and arriving , the application stay untouch for a while as it is in queue. everytime application pass through a CHECK, it go again in Queue for another CHECK.
But it is always in process.
VO will see if your file is complete, then they will put it in queue for BGC, when your turn for BGC arrive they will do BGC and put the application in queue for another thing.
The longer the queue the longer the wait and No Response for long time.

No...you need to read my post above. If they ask for additional documents, they assign a bring forward date. They do in fact set it aside until that bring forward date to begin working on the file again pending you submitted all requested documents. This is a well documented process that many will see if they order their GCMS. This workflow relates to when the VO is processing your file and requests additional documentation. This does not happen to everyone.
