FBI PCC

So I'm about a month odd away from my USA PCC being processed (after waiting since 6 September for this second application to the FBI; first set of prints were illegible).

Earlier this year we booked travel to the USA and we will reach there on the 23rd of December. Assuming that my PCC gets processed just before or while I am there, I am wondering whether this trip will invalidate the PCC, in which case I will have to cancel my trip:(. Any advise? I have tried to call CIC tirelessly via google hangouts and skype and got the voice prompts and high call volume message... so don't know what to do.

Your trip will not invalidate the PCC. However, it will make it valid for only 6 months (assuming the PCC is processed before or during your trip to USA).

Both emails are the same and operated by the same person(s). So, one email to any of the two would suffice.
Alright then.

Thanks.

Already got a response.

Aug 10 packages being processed today.

Really? That is good to hear. Is this based on personal experience?
This is from CIC instructions:

If you need a police certificate from a country or territory and are currently living there, or received the police certificate before leaving, the police certificate must be issued within six months before you apply

Thank you. But why is it that people were rejected because their pcc didn't cover their last dates or because they received pcc before leaving? Referring to the below:
  • have lived there in the past, the police certificate must be issued after you last lived in that country or territory.

So the rule is, if the PCC is issued after you leave a country, it is good forever. However, if the PCC is issued before you leave a country (even with 1 day) or you have visited that country after the PCC issue date, the PCC is only valid for only 6 months and can be used within this 6 months validity regardless. That said, the situation you have mentioned can never happen if the PCC follows the above rule.

I have a doubt here according to me the country you are residing the PCC is valid for 6 months but the country u have left the PCC is valid for lifetime if it covers your last day in that country. Entering again that country before e-apr will make you eligible for new PCC. try to make your trip after submitting the e apr and inform CIC after the trip about your trip via web form. This should be better and safe.

Did you take the prints yourself or have a professional do them? We had a police officer do ours, but only sent one copy each. He thought they’d be rejected, but one was accepted and just waiting on the second to be opened. Hoping they will be fine.... :S

Do anyone know from what exact date the FBI PCC is valid (Is it the document delivery date? or the day the CC is charged) since we have 6 months validity, I am curious to know when does the day 1 start?

Experts do help

Thanks in advance

I can only guess - The date printed on the FBI letter is what one should go by. The disclaimer is that I am still waiting on mine to reach me so not sure if they even put a date on it, but it makes sense to have it on there.
