If there is overlap, then it is fine. Some people do multiple jobs at the same time. It's better to disclose. Just make sure your tax papers show the same.

Another example is for addresses. For example, if you live in one address is 2 years, say March 2013 to March 2015. The second address is April 2015 to present. The way you write the first address is 2013/03 to 2015/03. The second address is 2015/03 to PRESENT.

There has to be absolutely NO GAPS in your timeline. Thankfully we only have to mention Month and year and not the actual dates.

Good luck with your application :)
I didn't overlap months even though I was in 2 different addresses in the same month. Not sure if this will cause issues.

If your status changed anytime between your work permits, like a student or visitor, then yes you have to mention. If your status remained same, then your date effective will be the first day you got your first work permit and date expired would be the day you got your PR.

For the status section (Q13), read the question carefully. It only asks you to fill statuses OTHER THAN the ones you obtained in Canada. This would be your original residency and others. Do not enter your Canadian PR status here.
Thanks for your reply ,

I believe you answered my Q 9b) not Q13 ? Am i correct ? :)

Yes, my bad. For question 9B, you only have to mention your TEMPORARY STATUS (one or more) in Canada BEFORE becoming a PR. In your case, your only your work permit.

For Q13, all your status OUTSIDE of Canada since your birth.

For family applications:
Is there some checkbox somewhere which have to be marked or some special form?

Or just putting all family member's applications in same envelop/parcel and delivered together makes them a family application?

Just putting them in the same envelope counts as family application.

Just make sure to put a copy of the Fee (if you paid all at once) on each checklist.

I found this on CIC website:

You must pay the application fees:

  • in Canadian funds
  • online (we don’t accept other payment methods)
We won’t refund your processing fees (or your children’s, if you’re applying for them) after we start processing your application(s).

If you’re sending all of your family’s application forms in the same envelope you can use one payment receipt for all of them.

The instruction guide has more detailed information on fees.

You already found the answer to your question. It's ok to send one receipt for family applications in the same envelope. Did you have another question ?

I sent only one receipt copy over both applications. Is this may create problem?
I don't think it would create a problem. Just in my opinion having one copy for each application would make each application more accurate to each checklist.

Here is my situation.

I was on a maternity leave from 01 June 2015 to 31 may 2016 and during this period, i went to India and stayed there for 5 months.

Below are my questions.

1. What should I mention in Physical Presence Calculator for this duration - Should i need to mention as visited family members or vacation?
2. In CIT0002E, for 10a do i need to call out the Indian address for 5 months
3. For 10b, it is more than 183 days during my eligibility period (since i made couple of trips to India apart from these 5 months). i have selected Yes but it is asking for explanation what should i put?
4. For 11, since i was on Maternity leave do i need to select employed or unemployed (i was getting EI for that duration). And i am working in the same company from 2012 to present.

Please suggest?
