I asked for my notes on September 22nd and as soon as September 19 the agent had upgraded me to pass the eligibility and I was now eligible for the criminality controls and they sent my application there, the next time they were going to see my file it was the 18 October 2017, how long do background checks last?

Mine has bern in progress since july 10... going on 4 months

I do not understand why they did not start my background check from the beginning like the others, it took my agent more than two months after the official AOR 2 to pass my eligibility but without starting my background check! good luck in your application!

Did they ask you if you wanted the interview in english or spanish? Did they say how long it would take for you to get the passport back with the visa in it? Congratulations, I bet you are excited to be done

They took my husband in first and asked if he wanted to speak in English to the visa officer or have the other lady speak there and translate in Spanish. He chose Spanish so he can answer more in depth. He said he understood of course when she asked the question in English but he had to wait for the translator.
They said that we would get the passport back 1 month maybe 2 at the most.

What kinds of questions do they ask?
They asked him questions about how we met, how he felt about me being 6 years older than him, about my son, if they talk etc. They asked him about my ex because they saw a picture on facebook. He was about 25 minutes. Then they asked him to get me and I was alone in there for about 5 minutes. They ask me the same question about the picture on facebook, which was so weird because he wasn't even important. I thought they might ask about my sons father but they didn't. Then that was it they got him to come in again and said she was satisfied. I was soooo nervous but when she said yes it was so hard not to jump up and down and be so excited! lol

Well we have the interview this morning and they took the passport and said that she was approving our application!
We had to redo the medical as it expired October 6th and she said she tried to extend it however they cannot extend the medical s from certain countries and Dominican is one of them.

Congratulations to you and your husband! :)

It is - the only thing keeping is sane is our notes and seeing the progress being made. Our MP is going to submit another enquiry at the end of the month
haven't request the notes i am starting to get discouraged about all this. I feel guilty for not requesting the notes and for my husband to be living away from us, i just want to get over with this... unfortunately our future are on the hands of the agents of the MVO...

It looks like the majority of applicants from Oct to Dec 2016 are having their interviews and getting DM this month or next. So as soon as most of these applicants are all processed, the Jan to March applicants should be next.

At this point, if you have not ordered notes before, it would be good to see what has been started in progress or passed to see how soon you can expect to get DM. Some people say ordering the notes might trigger some activity on the part of the Visa officer to take some action on your file, however, I think at this point they are bound to get to it sooner or later in the next little while. For me, I still want to know if they want to interview my partner as I think they probably arrange the interviews in batches (Jan to March applicants should be in queue for interviews now) and I am not dismissing the idea that just because I haven't heard them requesting us to go for an interview even as we are at 9 months in the processing stage, that it won't happen at this late point in time in processing because I still saw that it said Review required under eligibility in our last set of notes. If you order the notes this might be another thing you might want to check out, especially if you think there is a chance they might still ask you for an interview, as I haven't heard of any Jan to March applicants still waiting for DM getting interviews yet, but I am sure some of us will be asked (but who knows).

Just hang in there, in the next 2 or 3 months, it will probably be over for the majority of this group, depending on whether interviews or other things like ARC are needed, which might prolong the process a bit.
