Did you contact Manila visa office? What have they told you? Did they ask for any additional document from you?

This is so depressing and frustrating at the same time!
You waiting past 7 months, I am almost 6 months!
We lived on a dream based on a promise of magical 6 months timeframe and even after waiting out that whole 6 months we still haven't got a decision on our application!
Where are you based?

I am also based in Japan (Yokohama). Could this have anything to do with the slow processing..

According to CIC website, Japan applications go to Manila office: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/missions/manila.asp - not sure if 100% of them though

Has anyone tried to call Manila LVO or ordered GCMS notes?
Will write them using the web form once I pass 6 months timeframe on the 25th.
As mentioned by @liz2017 in a previous post, many applications are processed solely in Canadian soil and those are processed much quicker too!
From my observation, once a file is transferred to an LVO, there's usually a delay!
What is your timeline?

Well it says on the website all Japan based applicants are processed at Manila VO, although I do not have more information about it.. do you think some Japan based applications are processed within Canada?

My timeline:
AOR - August 11
Medicals passed - August 23
Additional documents uploaded (PCCs) - August 31
Documents status changed to "we do not need additional documents" - October 11
Background check still shows "we will inform you when we start your background checks"

Not sure if this means I am at IP1 or my file was transferred to LVO. I'll probably give CIC a call in the week and ask.

Hey!
Thanks for replying.
What I understand from this forum users, your application is probably in IP1 stage. I could be wrong though!
Also, many applicants get PPR directly from "we will inform you when we start your background checks"!
I think your application is moving along quite smoothly.
It took almost 2 months for my medicals to pass where yours was done within 2 weeks!
I have been seeing "we do not need additional documents" since mid-July!
But hoping this does not reflect the true situation of the processing!!
Unfortunately, not much information is available on the Manila VO!
I wish we had some information to have a general understanding!

Do you have a number for Manila?

Yes I think my application benefited from the lightning fast processing times of applicants with August AOR and beyond, especially for FSW-O. At least until I got this additional documents request, there just wasn't any update after that.

Unfortunately I can't seem to find a telephone number for Manila VO; I will need to do more search for that - will keep you posted if I find one.

Also got the same response. Due to these transport strikes, consulates are also affected since yesterday making application processes slower by the second. Hrrrggghhhhh.

Suffice to say and as per personal observation, MVO is slow. Their last update on my application (thru my rep) as of 24 September was that it’s on queue for review by a visa officer. We’re mid-October now. I mean, wow.

I’m also a PNP-O applicant with e-AOR in 03 March. Yep, I’m almost entering 8 months so the wait is undeniably excruciating. But I’m still hoping that there would be significant updates for each of our applications and that we would be issued with our PPRs the soonest possible time.

P.S. Not Japan based here.
