What about the period 2013-2015? You have to count all days in the last four years.
In short, I have not stayed 183 days in any place, except Canada, since I landed her as a student in August 2012.

Hi

I got my photographs done for the citizenship but the photographer wrote his shop name at the back with pen and put a stamp for the date the photo was taken. Do you think it would be ok given the requirements below? I asked the photographer if he had something better than this and he said this should work.

The requirements state the following:
  • Provide the name of the photographer or the studio, the studio address and the date the photos were taken on the back of the photos
Stamp or written is fine i think...

But again, a second opinion on this can't hurt.
Well, good news! I just got off the phone with the IRCC call centre and learned that only FULL days count in the 183 days/4 year criteria for the need for a police certificate. As I commuted home each night after work, those days do not count toward the 183 days.

I was originally able to apply for PR only after several years in Canada due to employment status and the streams available at the time. It seemed to take a long time to finally receive PR status and was not looking forward to another extended wait for filing for citizenship. This is a huge relief. Time now for some champagne.... :)

Sorry to bother - did you happen to know if it would still be 183 days in total / 4 years or 3 years under the new rules?

Hi Guys,

My current situation is:
  • Arrival date: 2005-12-26
  • PR date: 2013-08-24
After PR (2013-08-24), i have been traveling heavily to USA for work and personal matters:
  • if count from 2013-10-10 to 2017-10-10 (4 years), my days in USA is 189 in total.
  • if count from 2014-10-10 to 2017-10-10 (3 years), my days in USA is 149 in total.
I have everything else ready to go except the PCC from FBI. I am not sure what to do at the moment.

Any feedbacks would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  • Check tomorrow if the document list still says that you need a PCC if you've been to a country 183 days in the last four years. The expected answer is yes, but feel free to check tomorrow.
  • If Yes and the threshold is still four years, then you need the PCC from the US
  • If No and the threshold changed to three years, then you don't need the PCC from the US

Very good question. I asked the agent this very question and they didn't know what it would be after tomorrow. She encouraged me to wait and see what is in the new web pages post-Oct 11.

Just mention the US connection, there is no reason not to. If they stamped your passport and you don't mention it, then it might delay the application. Remember - you are providing a photocopy of your passport and all pages.
In the physical presence calculator - there is a place to describe your absence - up to 400 characters.
Describe the connections there.
thank you for your reply. i will mention that to back up presence calculator. are you sure that providing a photocopy of all passport pages instead of the bio page? thank you again.

Spyfy - appreciated your answers.

I carefully counted again. worst case scenario - threshold is set as 183 days / 4 years. i seriously have 185 days. what are the consequences if i send it off without a PCC?

I also have PCC application ready to go tomorrow if i have to. :(
