Questions about PCC requirement:

Can someone please clarify these questions about PCC? (Please excuse if these are too silly!)

1) Our eligibility requirement for citizenship is 3 years. So, if a person landed on 11 October 2014, he is eligible tomorrow. Then why PCC is asked from people who were absent more than 183 days in the last 4 years ?
2) So, every one who just completed 3 years need a PCC, which will take more time. Only those who stayed here more than 3.5 years can apply immediately unless they have made the PCC ready. Am I right?
3) How many years were considered to determine PCC requirement before 2015 (before C-24, when it was 3/5 years for citizenship )? Was it 4 years or 3 years?

Thanks in advance :)

There was no PCC requirement pre C 24

She works

at staples and kept arguing with me that they have a guide. Also said to write date of birth behind. Doesnt photos mean more than one? Leaves me confused
My own opinion - if the pics are completely identical, why do they need stamps on both?
Plus, I got it stamped the same way in Shoppers. As I understand these guys know what they do.

I sent application for my grand parents early this year, one photo was stamped the other was identical, it worked for them.

I think both ways will be fine and will work.

Agree. It makes sense. They are just not 100% specific

Previously only one picture was required to be stamped. The updated photo guidance does state that all pictures should be stamped.

I'd be very surprised if their is an issue with only one being stamped - but I suggest following the guidance and getting both pictures stamped. I took the printout with me.

Do i need to go take another passport then with one stamped? :( Should i have just left it at one...
Sorry, I didn't really get you. Are you asking if you should go to get the second stamp??

I assume, one stamp works if the photos are identical. But again, that's my own opinion.

Pl do not forget Last 5 years are considered in 3/5 rule. So CIC can ask any data for last 5 years. Or even more if they choose so. We are applicant.

Quoted from CIC site re photo
"Provide the name of the photographer or the studio, the studio address and the date the photos were taken on the back of the photos
  • Print the name of the person on the back of the photos."
Its quite clear.

Hi experts,

I have a questions and if it has been answered anywhere else please direct me to that answer..

What is the difference between these 2 questions:

1) When did you become a PR (landed immigrants) of Canada?
2) When did you first come to live in Canada?

I know the first one is the date found on the landing documents or the back of the PR card, but in my case, I landed in JANUARY 2014 and stayed for 20 days only, and then came back to Canada in AUGUST 2014 to live permanently.

so how would I answer the second question? is it January 2014 or August 2014 ?

Thanks
Landing date is PR Date and other date same too, unless you came to study or a refugee earlier. Experts can shed light on this.

I already got the two stamped.

I was asking if i should go back to take another one with just one stamp.

I think it is a newly updated rule hence the mixup
