You have to notify CIC about your marital status change.
You can do it through web form : http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/web-form.asp or with a reply to your ppr email direct to the local visa office.
Then you wait for them to respond and send you spouse kit along with instructions for further steps. This may take some time until they respond.
After you will have to return the passport and COPR to the visa office and submit additional documentation.
Good luck
Thank you.. another question pls. I have notified cic about my marriage and I have submitted my wife's documents but she's doing name change and she'll have to get a new passport with a new name. What do I do when she gets another passport with a new name? Do I inform cic now or when the passport is out?

Notify CIC as soon as she get the new passport. In some countries it's not obligatory to change the passport due to name change, you can still use the old one. But if she is required to get new, send a CSE with new passport scan and LOI, because the old one would not be valid any more.

After receiving the PPR case will be transferred to CHC, New Delhi. Either you have to provide the information through IRCC webform or send an email to
  1. delhi@international.gc.ca
  2. delhi-im-enquiry@international.gc.ca

Here is IRCC webform link - https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx
Hi sudheert,
Yes i enquired to them and then receiced spousal kit. I have sent the docs already. Now my question is, do they themself assess my husbands doc or do they send it back to cic?

Hi,

First of all, you must decide for yourself about how certain you are that your status will change.
There is no point telling your VO that you are likely to get married.

You basically have 2 options:

i. Postpone your marriage. Get COPR, do your landing and later sponsor your wife. This option will mean that you will avoid delays now, but a lot of delays later, as spousal sponsorship takes a lot of time.
ii. Get married and notify VO of the status change with relevant docs. These docs will be marriage certificate, police clearance for spouse and updated proof of funds. In addition, add some photographs of your marriage and reception. This option will mean that your file will go on hold while they verify information about your spouse and do background checks, medicals etc etc. But this delay is much better than the hassles of sponsorship later.

What you must not do:
Let's say you get PPR, send your passports and VISA is stamped. After this, in a month or two you get married. In this case, you must not land yourself without telling VO, because that will be misrepresentation and you will also not be able to sponsor your spouse later.

Bottom line : There is no point contacting VO with the likely and probable scenarios. However, you must update your VO the moment there is an actual change in your status before landing.
Sir,

I am looking at option 1. I have got COPR. will get married in December. and will call mu wife through spousal sponsorship.

I just wanted to ask, how do i Inform CIC about my marriage, and CIC will update CoPR after this, How much time will it take to get updated CoPR.

Regards

Hi Darko986.

I just wanted to ask. how much total time it will take after informing CIC of marriage post CoPR in below cases
1) If the wife is accompanying
2) If the wife is not accompanying

Secondly in the above IRCC webform, the question asked is in which office the file is processed. how can be ascertain that in which office the file has been processed. I had applied for Express Entry in Delhi

Thanks
