@midnightfalcon It seems it doesn't matter which approach you take. Both of them are perfectly acceptable. It is based on your own personal preference. If you are in a hurry then don't wait for the CIC letter. If you don't mind waiting for CIC to get back to you, then you can do that as well. Like others have mentioned, you just save some processing time by providing the PCC upfront. Best of luck!
If I have to initiate the process from my end.
I have to give details of my ITA REFERENCE number or is there any other process???

For your wife in Saudi Arabia you mean? Yes ITA file number, her name as on her passport, her passport number, mailing address, and contact number. Mailing address is required if she chooses to have the PCC request letter mailed to her from the Canadian consulate or embassy. The alternative is to go pick it up in person.

Yes for my wife I would be requiring 2 PCC's (1 - KSA and 2 - INDIA)

Since she has IQAMA (Work Permit it makes her a Legal Resident there)

In this, I would prefer to approach for KSA PCC as this would save time. I guess she would prefer to pick it up in person.

For her INDIAN PCC - This will also have to be done from Indian Embassy in KSA. Correct?

She usually visits India every month of 4-5 days. What is the correct process here? Should I get Indian PCC from Passport Seva Kendra in India or Indian Embassy in KSA.

Also, suppose she gets an Indian PCC from KSA, can she travel back to India? I mean does it make this PCC invalid? Is there something like this?

as a rule of thumb - if your wifes residency is Saudi, not india then
PCC is valid for saudi for whatever period of time mentioned. Indian PCC is only valid till her next visit to India. Lets say I got my Indian PCC from passport office on 1st Jan 2011, and I travel to India from Saudi on 10th Jan 2011, then PCC is only valid till 10th Jan 2011.

So what you need to do is to get PCC from your wife as soon as she comes back from India, and submit your application BEFORE she travels to India again...
Just remember - your profiel is frozen whenever you submit your application, and after that none of the documents (Including IELTS, PCC, work expereince etc) expire... the ONLY exception is medicals which is only valid for 1 year regardless.

good luck

who is considered as the legal resident of SA, my wife has lived in SA for some time earlier but now she is in India( majority of the time) and she visits SA for few days for official work and holds a valid Iqama. Does she need PCC from SA ?

I am the primary applicant in my EE profile.

if she has lived in KSA for more than 180 days put together (not just at a stretch, altogether) then she needs a PCC from both india and KSA

But now she is residing in India and is Indian resident from quite some time(> 6 month) so IRCC states that if you are not the current resident of SA then you need not have a PCC from SA. Now I am confused if having Iqama means she is a legal resident and she needs PCC.

IRCC states:
If you are not a citizen of Saudi Arabia and live outside KSA:

Special notes and considerations

Certificates are available only to current legal residents.

If you have current legal residence status in Saudi Arabia, follow the directions above for citizens of Saudi Arabia who live in Saudi Arabia.

If you do not have current legal residence status in Saudi Arabia, you are not required to provide a Saudi Arabian police certificate. If you are asked for a police certificate from Saudi Arabia, write: “I cannot provide a police certificate for the time I spent in Saudi Arabia because certificates are only available to people who have current legal residence status.”
Do I need to provide a Police Certificate for Express Entry?

Yes, but only after you submit your application. When you apply for permanent residence, you will be asked to upload a police certificate. Instead, you must upload a document that states: “I am applying from a country that requires an official request letter from IRCC to get a police certificate.”

We will then review your application. If it is otherwise complete, we will send you more information on how to get a police certificate. Please read the instructions above for more information.

We will not accept police certificates sent by mail for Express Entry applications.

well considering she has an active iqama, that makes her a resident of KSA.... so my interpretation is she will need PCC

lets assume PCC is not required in this case - Are you willing to risk rejection just to save a little time and money and not getting the PCC for KSA ?? you need to ask yourself this question.

Hello all..
I got 20 days from now to submit my PCC, I reside in Jeddah Saudi Arabia (Ethiopian)...

What should I do in my case? What are the procedures please?... Should I just print the attachment that I received via my email and go to the Police station along with my iqama? Are there any documents required? Like a letter from my consulate (Ethiopian)? Or the Canadian?... I'm really confused and running out of time

The attachment must be the request letter for pcc. Please take the print of this letter and take it to the ministry of foreign affairs for attestation then take the attested letter to police head quarter with your iqama and passport to apply for police clearance certificate.

@Mzub I got a request letter from the Indian Consulate jeddah addressing the Director of Police, Al-Jubail to issue a PCC for me. (Jubail as is stated in my Iqama)

But I'm currently living close to jeddah. Can I apply at the police headquarters here or would the PCC be issued only at Jubail as mentioned in the request letter?
