Let me clarify this please. You need to be a full time student for all of your semesters to be considered compliant with your study permit. If you drop any subject within one term, you are in violation of your student permit and you risk it being cancelled. You will also have a problem with your post graduate work permit. You can only be part time on your last semester.
So even if it states that minimum is 9 credits, the average full time load is about 20 or more. Students have gotten denied because they were part time students instead of full time. Mag ingat po tayo
Also, just to add, you can only become part time if you have no choice. For example, you failed and have to retake a course that is only offered once a year. Otherwise, if sinadya mo na minimum load, baka po magka problema in the end. Moreover, your grades are also submitted sa immigration so if bumagak or nakita na minimum load kahit pwede naman hindi, then it raises a flag. Also, you are not actually saving money because in the long run, you are losing time amd opportunity. While you are still in school, all your classmates may have moved on and became PR na or The demand on your industry drops or new immigration policy, etc. Ect
Mas advisable pa po na mag summer classes to accelerate graduation rather than prolong your studies. Isipin niyo na lang po na almost every semester meron natatapos sa school which is competition in the job market and finding a job after graduation is not as easy either for most.
