If we dint score clb 7 in any one skill in TEF exam and wish yo rewrite should we write all the four skills again as we do in ielts?

Hi there, unfortunately yes, you should do all 4 parts just like IELTS, test centres won't allow you to take just one or parts of the TEF Canada test. Hope you will pass soon, very best of luck to you!

Thanks. Yes my brother (we both sharing same mother or father) landed on 12th july, 2017 and I claimed points on 13th, July, 2017.

I am not worried about this but they are also asking for on the date of submission of profile also. In my case the date of submission of profile is 25th June, 2017 when my brother was in india. This seems illogical because supposing a Candidate submitted his profile 10 month back and his sibling subsequently got his PR and is established there. Does not this candidate has a right / eligibility to qualify for 15 sibling points. But as per the “? HELP “ notice there in application section of the Express Entry he is not eligible for sibling points.

In fact, I just wanted to know your thoughts considering the framing of the sentence and paragraphs 2 & 3 which seem contradictory. Sometimes I infer that this condition of 2 dates is meant for step brothers / sisters only.

Also when I check “ SIBLING “ in “GLOSSARY “ at IRCC website, they have mentioned the condition of both dates in explanation of Step-brother / Sisters only in the explanation part.

Also about these “both dates” there is no mention at all in Canada GAZETTE or anywhere on IRCC website.

I am really in a dilemma whether to go for ITA route or decline it and wait for OINP where I am in ASSESSMENT stage as my CRS IS 434.

Please do share your thoughts regarding what do they mean to say in there and glossary.

I know exactly what you mean. And if I was in their shoes I'm not sure I would be any different. I'd ask the same newbie questions and be gone as soon as that shiny PR arrived.

But it's nice to know that there is a core of 'oldies' here. Both from an age point of view and CRS points cutoff point of view given I fall into both camps. This forum and this thread in particular seems to attract a lot of really nice people to talk to while we wait our turn, which will come. There's room and a way for us all, we just gotta have patience and be creative in our approach.

Now roll on the draw today and 407 cutoff so I leave you old farts in my dust!

Yes Calgary and many parts of Alberta were the growth engine for Canada for many years as oil prices were increasing and especially above $100/barrel. The salaries were very high even without skills and many adults worked and the returned home to their families in other areas of the country monthly. Many people relocated to Alberta but have often returned to ON/BC when they were laid off. The real estate prices also went up dramatically due to demand. The oil prices have been low for 3-4 years so the layoffs and readjustment to a new normal has happened and the economy is no longer in decline and has started showing slightly positive signs. Alberta in general has a younger population and is still catching up in term of major infrastructure like schools/hospitals. There are less sales taxes than other provinces although they may have add a provincial sales tax at some point. Real estate is more affordable and there is plenty of availability at the moment. Calgary is very safe and is still relatively small at just over a million people. If you like the outdoors and sporting activities it is ideal. The big issue is what kind of employment are you looking for?

Thank you for your input. I appreciate it! I'm an accountant with 10 years experience and planning to enroll when I arrive to get CPA designation and my husband is system administrator (IT). Since we have 2 small kids we would like for my husband to have a full time job and me working part time and attending classes but we'll see how it goes, currently we both have full time jobs...

Hi All,

I've been lurking on the Ray of Hope forums for a month and I decided to finally post something . I'm REALLY hoping for a draw today. I have a score of 429 and I also have an acceptance letter from Conestoga for a program that starts in January. Ideally, I'd have liked to join college as a permanent resident. But I guess with the 6 month processing time, I'd be cutting things really fine (assuming things can still be cut really fine given my circumstances) if I do make it as a permanent resident.

Since the past few weeks, I've been playing with the idea that it would make sense to go on a student visa and change my visa to a Permanent Resident one once I land there. Is that possible? Does anyone else have any other suggestions about what course of action I can adopt given the way things are today?

I included a statement of "dual intent" with my student visa application. It would be really nice if I could get PR early, because tuition would be less. But I can't count on it.
