My predictions for this month's draws are the following:

If a draw happens today (not likely, but I hope so), CRS cut-off = 426 with 3000 ITA's
If a draw happens on the 23rd of August instead, CRS cut-off = 430 with 3200 ITA's
However, if a draw doesn't happen until the 30th of August... (I can't really tell because I can't predict that far into the future :p)

Am I totally wrong to think that we in the 420's shouldn't be too hopeful if there's a draw today because many new profiles with really high scores have been added recently as a result of the latest IELTS results? I just want an ITA!:(
I really think it's overly hopeful for us to expect it to hit either 420 or 424 today.

I really want a draw today so that I know I'll have a fair chance in September.

I so hope that a draw happens today and the CRS cut off continues to fall so that I stand a chance in September/October

Hi All,

I've been lurking on the Ray of Hope forums for a month and I decided to finally post something :). I'm REALLY hoping for a draw today. I have a score of 429 and I also have an acceptance letter from Conestoga for a program that starts in January. Ideally, I'd have liked to join college as a permanent resident. But I guess with the 6 month processing time, I'd be cutting things really fine (assuming things can still be cut really fine given my circumstances) if I do make it as a permanent resident.

Since the past few weeks, I've been playing with the idea that it would make sense to go on a student visa and change my visa to a Permanent Resident one once I land there. Is that possible? Does anyone else have any other suggestions about what course of action I can adopt given the way things are today?

Thanks

I am no expert, but I think it should be possible to apply for a PR while you are on a student visa.

In any case, I really feel for your situation (similar to @tjsecondtry here). I am rooting for both of you, and really hope you guys get your ITAs soon.

With your score, it is very likely you will get it by end August, if not mid September. Good luck!

Yes.. you can change your student visa to PR. However, if you become a PR while inside Canada, you will have to leave the country and reenter canada again. You will also have to send your passport to IRCC to cancal your student visa.

@shaun75 Yes, that 1:5 ratio is sooooo impressive. Show's two things:
1. Your posts very intelligent/relevant/ insightful/ relatable
And/or
2. You are much loved here

Either way, you are definitely very influencial on this forum - what Malcolm Gladwell in his book Tipping Point might clasify as a Maven-Connector. ;)
