Hi All
I am FSWO with AOR 3rd June and currently on IP2.
My doubt is that as seen from previous trends... CIC use to issue PPR within 1-7 days of IP2. However, suddenly they have stopped issuing PPR and are sending approval mail to some applicants and other call the CIC to know their status.
.
Anybody, who could tell any likely reason of this....?

People are calling just because of pure impatience and panic, which is natural of course. They get some reply and it gives them peace of mind.
In earlier groups people used to call less as they mostly waited for average timelines. The June/July group has gone real impatient due to some candidates being issued quick PPRs and hence everyone wants some update, so people trying different ways to extract some information from CIC. Its just how our human mind works. Patience is a rare virtue.

Now to your question, I assume from your timeline that your file is at Ottawa office, which indicates most likely it is approved. 15 days in IP2 is normal, so no worries here. Also CIC is issuing PPRs a bit late even to approved applications these days, taking 30 days also from IP2, nothing to worry here it is the new norm now. I suggest you do not call them before 20 days in IP2. You are at a good stage, why bother them unnecessarily.
Application is going great my friend, enjoy this moment, your golden e-mail is arriving for sure, take my word for it:):):)

i figure i might as well share my updates here as well..im almost starting to hope - which is a dangerous thing but anyways sharing is caring:)

AOR - 9 July
Background check: IP1 - it said in progress so i assume this was IP1?
Additional documents requested - 25 July (Travel history and Schedule A for the spouse) - I submitted on 1 August
Meds passed - 3 August
Background check - NA - 3 August

Am i correct in assuming that I am now in NA2?

30-40 days in NA is alright nothing to worry. Also is suggest you find out your visa office that will help you in determining the cause of delay also.
Called them once they told me that the file is in CIO, Sydney.

Hmmmm hence the delay, CIO is slow it takes 40-50 days here to start eligibility. After it is passed file is transferred to LVO, where it depends when VO looks at your file and initiates IP2.
Please read my following post in regard to CIO processing after eligibility is passed there-
"
Sadly it does make a difference, CIO is bit slower. Now for your application it means that your eligibility has been passed by a case analyst at Sydney office and hence the update of additional documents. Now your application most likely will be transferred to a LVO after this due to load distribuition, where a Visa Officer will check all checks again including eligibility, when the Visa officer at LVO starts these checks on your file, you will get IP2 update the, and hopefully PPR in next 15-20 days maximum, sometimes even sooner depending on how fast or slow your Local Visa Office is. Now the processing time form this stage onwards all depend on the queue in which your file goes and how fast is your Local Visa Office.
The good news here is that at least you will be out of Sydney now , it is very slow. Also as your first check of eligibility is passed, its very rare that the Visa officer will doubt the case much now. So chances of rejection have decreased. Only very rarely Visa officers reject cases in IP2, most visa officers just do mere formality and pass the file. Some visa officers might call Employers to check and verify employment, due to random quality checks etc. Mostly you will be fine now IMO."

AOR Received.

All, have a quick query.

My wife's FBI PCC request was rejected as FBI could not read the fingerprints. We applied again and the package was delivered to FBI on 7th July.

My ITA deadline was 12th July, so I applied with an LoE for her. And got AoR in 12th July and medicals cleared on 23rd July. But then I got a mail from CIC on 25th July stating that I need to submit my wife's PCC in 60 days., which is around 25th Sep.

Current estimate for FBI PCC is around 10-12 weeks. So it looks very difficult that we'll receive her PCC on time.

My question is, can I apply to CIC to extend the deadline by a few weeks.

The rejection letter from FBI stated to apply again and that we will process up receipt. My assumption was that they'll take up her case off-cycle as it's a re-application and not a new one. But guess they'll take the full time.

Please advise on what options I have.
