Hi canadavisa!

I'm in the process of moving to Canada sometime late this month or early august. I'm curious about how **landing** works. I'm immigrating through family/spousal sponsorship. However, since I'm planning on applying for permanent residence in-land. I wanted to know at what time I should be moving my personal belongings to Canada. Can I do it before I apply for PR status or do I have to wait until I'm implied or a full permanent resident. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Do you have your COPR yet? Where are you traveling from? Seattle? By land border or plane?

Hi,

I have some questions on "funds" or "proof of funds" upon landing:-

- How does one show "proof" of funds? Is it all in cash?
- I am a single primary applicant so what is the min & max amount of funds that I can or should carry?
- How many maximum canadian dollars one can carry?
- How many out of this amount can be in cash?
- Other than cash in which forms can we carry the funds?

Sorry for such a late reply. I live just outside Seattle. I would be entering Canada through a land border. I was curious when I would be able to use the personal effects accounting document as "settler" so that I wouldn't have to pay duty on my belongings that I'm bringing to Canada. I'm getting married in the winter and I was wondering if I could use that document before I actually am married.

If you have the COPR, you can use the document as settler.
