I am a C/Java developer mostly writing code and maintaining existing code- My job duties mostly match NOC 2174 (Computer programmers and interactive media developers) , but my role given be my company is Software engineer.

I am just wondering if I should use NOC 2173 (Software engineers and designers) or NOC 2174 (Computer programmers and interactive media developers) on my EE profile? Pls advice.

Go with the NOC which matches your job duties.

Hi, have a question... i have created an EE profile as me being the main applicant and my husband being the secondary applicant. His experience and role in IT is better so can he receive an interest through one of the provinces without an PNP profile- just with my EE profile?

As you are the primary applicant, your NOC will be the deciding factor for sending NOIs. If you are also in IT, you would receive an NOI, it does not matter on the exact IT role you do, it just depends on the NOC.

I am also interested since ad is my domain... But due to the pathway to PPR being so unpredicatble, I might look into jobs once I get onto safe side.

And of course Ontario is the best destination to look for jobs in marketing and advertising, not because most of the big companies and ad groups are there but the startup scene is blooming, which means more tech related jobs also for my specialty.

Hey buddy,
Don't go with the designation, go with the roles and responsibilities.
Just cross verify those with the respective NOC's responsibilities.
I myself am an ASP.NET developer, my job duties match with 2173 so I went with 2173. Hope this helps. Good luck

Hello , I was thinking NOC 2173 is more into planning , design and specifications rather than actual coding/development.
and NOC 2174 Computer programmers specifically states write , modify , integrate and test software code.
So I was just wondering being a .net developer , since you write and maintain code , dont you think NOC 2174 is better suited for you. Can you pls let me know why you chose 2173 , thanks for your help

Please could someone once and for all confirm that:

IELTS date in the EE profile is supposed to be an actual date when the test was taken and not when hard copy was received (TRF date in the bottom). I've been searching for clues but different users claim different PoVs;

also re Meds validity - counted from the date it is officially passed in MyCIC profile and not when meds exam is actually conducted?

2. I don't have ONIP invite. I am a marketing professional with no IT experience. My NOC is - advertising and marketing. Is there a reason why I haven't got ONIP despite a 400+ score ?

No one apart from the CIC knows who and who does not get an ITA. In short the CIC draws are unpredictable.

2. I don't have ONIP invite. I am a marketing professional with no IT experience. My NOC is - advertising and marketing. Is there a reason why I haven't got ONIP despite a 400+ score ?
Please check if your NOC is under the "In-demand NOC List" for OINP. If you were an IT professional, even if you were below 400 CRS, you would have got an ONIP invite. Dont be disheartened, please check the OINP eligibility list.

My rough calculation states the CRS cut off would fall by 11-12 points and reach 437 or 438, if the draw happens on July 12 with 3400 ITAs.

Do wait for my final prediction on July 12th.

You sure there would be a draw on 12th.

Last time also you said wait for m final prediction on July 5th. I waited but you didn't predict anything and hence no draw.

Don't ditch us this time.

1. I am also waiting with CRS 436. Let's hope for the best.
2. To receive OINP NOI u need to recreate your profile. They send invitation to freshly opened profile.
