Is it a good sign that my BGC went in Progress and also does it mean that my Eligibility passed or it could still be in progress along with my BGC?

How long did they take to update about adding the additional documents after receiving them?

They will acknowledge the receipt of your application in few weeks/month. Wait for a few days and if you don't get a letter then call cic.

I was asked for two additional documents in two separate correspondence. Passport size photographs and travel history form. For first correspondence, I mailed my photographs but didnt get any response or status change on myCIC. Then, I get another correspondence for travel history form and I did not mail it and only uploaded it on the myCIC portal and it said my document is uploaded successfully. So, I uploaded my passport size picture there as well.

I am sending this email to inquire the status of the application for permanent residence under family class for principal applicant <Insert PA Name here>. The Application was filed on <Application filing date>. We got correspondence from Case Processing Centre Mississauga confirming the eligibility of Sponsor on <AOR1 Date>. Since then we haven't heard anything from Visa office(London visa office in our case) or received any kind of correspondence. It's been about six months without any status update.

I would really appreciate if you can kindly provide any kind of update for where my application stands in the process.

It seems we (Oct'2016 applicants) are stuck with some lazy visa officer. Most of us didn't hear back from CIC where as lots of Nov applicants are getting DM or additional documents request.

Guys I know exactly how you feel at the moment, however you should consider two things at the moment to stay positive:

1) LVO has finally woken up from their deep sleep and the month of May saw the maximum number of DMs till now.

2) I think they have a mid year cut off so they will try to finalise maximum applications by 30th June. Same happened last year as a lot of people got DMs before June 30.

The dry period that caused people to wait 9-11 months has finally ended..IA those waiting will hear good news soon.

I think you will get DM or may be direct PPR in the coming week or two

You are right about that, but it is really out of my understanding how they go about applications? I mean people who applied later are getting their PPRs and we are just waiting here since 8 months with literally no update at all. And on top of that, LVO doesn't bother to reply to the email. I guess I am just over thinking but it really is very frustrating.
