1 - Yes you can, and yes, it is valid.
2 - There is no minimum balance required, what CIC does not want to see is for example that you had $1000 one month and then jumped to $20,000 the other.
3 - You don't have to have $22,000 for the past 6 months, again they ask for the average monthly balance of the past 6 months to see if you received any suspicious lump sums.

Cheers and +1 me bro ;)

Hi All,

Posting the query again.. As I didn't received any inputs.
Request you to guide if you have any idea on the same :

We have recently received ITA. Working on documents.
Can Somebody please guide about Proof of funds.
My husband is primary applicant.
Am I eligible to show funds in my account(FD etc) (Secondary applicant/ Spouse)
Or we need to have all funds on primary applicants' name.
Please share if you guys have any templates for proof of funds from bank.

Many Thanks!!

Appreciate any valuable guidance !!

It has to be in primary applicants name.
You can gift the item to your spouse.
If the deposit is in India, you maybe able to change the ownership of the account without changing other details of the account.
First add your spouse to the account in E/S mode.
And then remove yourself.
This way your account will still retain the old start date. Check with your bank if this is possible.

Hi,

Can you please give me your opinion on my situation. I have said that I will bring $ 26 000 with me in Canada. I am the primary applicant and the only dependent is my wife. Around $ 20 000 have been on my account for over 6 months and that should be fine, but my wife transferred around $ 3000 to me recently and also I have another $ 3000 which my father gave me on hand.

My plan is to show the $ 20 000 for the past six months, for the ones of my wife to present her 6 months report from bank and my father signed a gift deed ( signed notary).

Do you think this would be enough?

Thanks for your replies.

One question guys.
If after ITA I show my savings account as POF (i am the main applicant), when got the PR and arrive in Canada, we can show a different POF's source? For example my wife's account?

Probably when we move we will only keep her account so I will close mine before leave here.

Thanks for your replies!

Yes, when landing in Canada, you can show funds in your wife's name (provided both of you are landing together).

You can show funds which are in the co-applicant or spouse's name provided the spouse is accompanying. You do not have to necessarily transfer the funds to the primary applicant's account. However, please note that the spouse should give a signed self declaration stating that you are a co-applicant in your husband's PR application and the funds held in your bank account(s) are to be used for migration purposes and you do no have any objection for the same. You will need to get all the same bank related documents that would apply for the primary applicant as well. In the LOE show a table with the funds totaled from both your bank accounts.

Nope it's not necessary to carry the amount with you but take the POF at the time of entry.

Guys, I obtained a bank statement today. Could you please advise if it is fit for purpose?

BANK NAME confirms that MY NAME holds ACCOUNT NUMBER current account with our bank. The date of account opening is XX.XX.XXXX.
The balance of the current account as of YESTERDAY'S DATE is AMOUNT USD.
The rate of the Central Bank, etc, etc. to show that I have enough funds in CAD.

Name, signature of the Director of the Branch, stamp.
The second page shows activity in the account. I deposited the entire sum in two deposits.

Will this information be enough?

Has the money been in your account for at least 6 months ? If not, you will need to demonstrate where those two deposits came from.
