Disclosure: I don't work in this area/specialized field so I am not educated enough to know the specifics. I just compare your stated results to what is on the CIC website link. Also I can't tell if your Diplomas are 'Graduate' or 'Post-Graduate' diplomas.

Yes you compare Canadian Equivalency Summary to the ECA equivalent table. High school for sure does not count, the hospital study and training does not count. I just can't tell if your diploma is 'Graduate' or 'Post Graduate'.

You cannot choose '2 or more...' option. Your ECA states that your educational credentials are equivalent to a 2 year post secondary Canadian diploma.

I don't know if a re-evaluation can be done. You can definitely try another Education evaluation provider. The thing with this is additional cost to you and there is no guarantee of the results being any different. As WES and some other organizations are CIC accredited they all have to follow the same standard. Getting an evaluation from another organization may get you the exact same result.

Hi Guys,

I hope all is well at your end. I am in a state of confusion and would like you to please suggest me if I shoud select the ECA as "Two or more post-secondary program credentials, at least one of which lasting 3+ years" for my wife.

My wife recently received her ECA as:

CANADIAN EQUIVALENCY SUMMARY
Completion of a college-level certificate (one year) and bachelor's degree (four years)

Credential Authentication: Documents were sent directly by the institution
Country: United Kingdom
Credential: Certificate in Business Accounting
Year: 2016
Awarded By: Chartered Institute of Management Accountants
Status: Recognized Institution
Major/Specialization: Business Accounting
Canadian Equivalency: Completion of a college-level certificate (one year)

Credential Authentication: Documents were sent directly by the institution
Country: United Kingdom
Credential: Bachelor of Science
Year: 2014
Awarded By: Southampton Solent University
Status: Recognized Institution
Major/Specialization: Business Information Systems
Canadian Equivalency: Bachelor's degree (four years)

Just that it is a college level certificate is causing confusion if i should select 2 or more certificate/diploma/degree option or just the bachelors. Will be looking forward to your suggestion. Thanks

I

I'm having the same problem with my 3 year diploma. It is not equivalent to a completed Canadian Education.
Did you try another ECA agency? How did you proceed?

TRY IQAS. WES does not favour Nurses that hold diplomas or certificates. Even tho they're all IRCC approved. IQAS has a very different approach when it comes to doing their assessment.
I signed up with WES and after i kept seeing all of the Diploma holders ECA report it made me change my mind. (Don't want to waste my money).
I cant vouch for IQAS just yet because i'm now starting my application but i've heard a few people well, especially nurse from Nigeria and Ghana who used them and got favourable reports.
If you can afford to, then go ahead and give IQAS a try.
I'll let you know by the end of July how my report goes

Hi all I did:
1 -A-levels
2 -3 year Design diploma (IED,Barcelona)
3 -1 year Advertising master (Combined title IED and a public UNI)

Initiallty the report only recognised my Alevels which was super depressing so my summary was just highschool pretty much. They saw 2 and 3 both as unrecognised institutions. I then realised IED, Milan was on list of recognised on the Canada immigration site somewhere. So a year later I contact them and ask if its the same institution (private) but in Barcelona coulnd't they relook at it? And explained also that my years master was a joint master and it was meant to give me in Spain the equivilence of a 4 year diploma instead of 3.

They then come back with this:

Canadian equivalancy summary: Masters (Ok I am kinda thrilled with this although it makes no sense with the below)
1. Alevels (recognised)
2. 3 year graphic design: unrecognised insituton / diploma from unrecognised insitutiom
3. Masters from UB (they just mention the local uni and not IED, which I guess is fine as combine?) : Recognised insitituon and master ??

My questions are:
A- Can I select masters then when applying for express entry? Shall I not worry that my 3 year degree is still unrecognised and just be happy with it?
B- Will they not look at the rest of report and be like how on earth did she get equivilency of MASTER when her degree is unrecognised still?

I feel its a bit luck of roulette of their mood so if its ok like this I preffer not to mess with it more? But I am worried if I select masters in express entry they will deny it because of the unrecognised degree. I do want to get back to them ASAP if I need to! Will be so thankful to whoever can shed some light on this.
