In general there is no such thing as "registering a marriage" in Canada. A legal marriage performed anywhere in the world is also recognized in Canada, with just the marriage certificate (translated to english/french if required).
The only thing one must do in Canada with the government after getting married in another country, is to change status with CRA to married. You can also inform any other place that may want to know (i.e. for joint bank accounts, insurance, listing as beneficiaries, etc). In all cases a translated copy of marriage certificate is all that's needed if asked for proof.
