Thats great for whoever who are hearing from IRCC. My spouse is February 2024 and I am the overseas dependant and we haven't heard nothing since May/June 2025 when we got eligibility and prearrival respectively
Yes the first half of 2024 is moving very slowly unfortunately. I even see people from September 2025 receiving their final decision. This is not fair!!!!
Did you think the PR capacity for us will be completed this year? There has been no news regarding this, so do we have to wait until after the New Year?
I don't think so because that doesn't make any sense. That initiative program just got started two months ago, so they didn't even reach 10% or 20% of the capacity for protected persons. The subject is basically that the wave didn't reach us yet because you can all notice that in the beginning of June. Applicants from May, June, July, August, September have been receiving updates from IRCC and in late July got started with NOV and Dec applicants. Maybe they're gonna start processing our applications in the beginning of September or the beginning of October or maybe before.
If we add up all the immigration target numbers for protected person plus one time initiative, it should be covered for everyone who applied PR from 2022 to 2025.
My overseas spouse/dependent PR application and spouse gave biometrics on June 3, 2026, then as of August 21, 2026, it has been about 11 weeks (79 days). I did not hear nothing from Visa office. I presume Security may take longer and can happen without any communication.
My spouse outside Canada received medical request and biometric till now didn't receive any form them
My overseas dependent also received medical and biometrics request 3 months ago and nothing since. I heard their file won't move until the main applicant has their final decision.
