In background check there is 3 steps as call agent told me. Medical, criminality, and security. So information sharing is in the security step which is some people experience months wait. Also, security will start after biometric

I haven’t received biometric, but yesterday the agent told me that background is in progress, info sharing is in progress. And nothing is required from my side yet.

if the agent say that you will receive biometric requests soon, then your medical and criminality will be pass within days, but information sharing must start after biometric done.
- Criminal checks will process only in RCMP office( Canada police)
Information sharing will process different offences like CBCA,,,,

That’s weird cause the agent told me, info sharing has started already and is in progress. Tbh, now I don’t understand how the whole process works. Everyone’s file is moving differently.

I understand my criminality was started in July 2025, but I gave biometric in July 2026. Within days my criminality and medical passed. Unfortunately, my security and eligibility not started.

Maybe they are using the biometrics that I gave in 2024, and they most probably will ask for biometrics again towards the end.

I gave biometric two time in 2021 and 2023. Depends on IRCC biometric rule , who applied for PR should give new biometric, but am not entirely sure.

Yes, that’s true. Biometric is a must for PR Application. I just mean that maybe just to process stuff they could be using the existing one. Anyhow, it’s just a wait game in the end of the day. Good luck!

IRCC through a pre-removal risk assessment, and submitted an application for permanent residence on or before August 15, 2025.

I hope they clear all the backlogs and then start to process others faster
