Actually, I already spoke with a lawyer because I have been waiting for 41 months. There is nothing concerning in my background, except that I come from a country that may be considered high-risk.
The lawyer told me that a demand letter would likely be useless at this stage. He said that, in the best-case scenario, mandamus could take around 5–12 months, and it could take more than a year if the court asks for a hearing, which is rarely required. He also told me there is no guarantee that we would win the case.
Because of that, I decided to wait for now, since hopefully we should receive a decision much sooner and save my money.
I highly recommend speaking with multiple lawyers about this...processing time is now like what 14 months...yours has gone significantly beyond that time and yet not sure if there would be a chance of getting an answer by their so called dashboard that fluctuates from 1 month to 2 months or even more.. their numbers in the processing dashboards make no sense which is in the same argument of lack of transparency...there is no fifo system.. number of ppl in front of you make no sense vs what timeline you have and number of applications being processes.. I have taken snapshots of past months to collect evidence of this broken system...think about your pr delay your residency delay.. your life on pause...literally messed up as is...I'm in burnout mode right now with severe depression cuz of this mess

When did you submit?

Did you submit inside the Quebec?
It was in the first days of March 2023, and I have never been in Quebec. The lawyer said the delay may be because of the country of origin.
I have a question for IRCC: who is asylum really for? Is it for people from safe and stable countries, or for people escaping war, persecution, and dangerous countries?
Why are real refugees treated so badly and forced to wait for years, while some people with weaker claims (Fake) seem to get PR much faster? This feels very unfair.

Exactly...damn..mine is nov 2023...life is unfair...unfortunately I have seen those nuances too...what can be done...paying taxes...contributing to the communities on so many levels...but this is how we get treated...I'm not surprised why many ppl tend to leave canada...the end.

Hello,
I am an August 2023 applicant. Today when I logged in in my account it said Application Update but it wasn’t anything new. So a ghost update. Anyone had similar experience?
I'm also from August 2023 and I haven't received P1 or P2 yet.

Hello members, I have a question. If I have a representative, will the IRCC notification for Portal 1 be sent to the representative? Or will IRCC send it directly to my email? Does anyone know about this? Any answers would be appreciated.

Mp says 37 month for processing time normal and ı could take 40 months while they processing 2024 2025 files. This system is completely broken from IRCC to MP. Nobody can help us. I will never forget how they treated us.I will email to every journalist about this ongoing issue. I will also complain about this mp office.
