The MP intervention clearly made a difference the file often gets immediate attention but MP office usually cannot legally “order” faster processing. Their role is generally to inquire, request status updates, or ask an agency to review a case.
my RTD expire in November 2026 and have a valid schengen visa in it..I also have my PR now...how soon can i apply for new RTD
Some Schegen countries allow you to travel with both the old document containing the visa and the new RTD but you should verify the rules with the country you will visit.
You can apply if the expiry is within 6 months. Mine is expiring in Sept, and I'm also in the process of arranging the documents. You should send a letter, in addition to the usual documents, requesting the return of the current RTD because you have a valid visa in it.
Can you please share from which country you got your Schengen visa? And how long did it take to get it?
