Doesn’t mean “you must have 10k.” there so many other reasons including Income is too low compared to expenses/travel plan, sudden large deposits (looks suspicious), no stable job or unclear source of money, travel cost seems unrealistic for their finances.
In other words, it’s about credibility, not just the number.
Hi guys! What should be written in nationality. There is an option for Refugee of 1951 convention and later it also asks if I have another nationality. I’m confused as to what write here
Refugee of 1951 Convention & Another nationality: No (unless you actually have another passport). If am wrong correct me.
No my passport is with the IRCC. So we don’t the write the nationality of the country we came from then?
Even if the passport is currently held by IRCC, the applicant’s nationality remains unchanged.
The applicant should indicate the country of citizenship as reflected on their passport.
Nationality changes only upon acquisition of Canadian citizenship.
But they have given an option for Refugee of 1951 convention and that’s the travel document I hold
But legally, you often still retain your original nationality (unless it’s been formally removed).
So you typically fill in both, your original country (citizenship) & Refugee travel document (status) 1951 Convention Refugees.

Okay thank you. There’s also another question about the most recent travel to US, Canada etc so since my most recent travel from those countries is to Canada, I wrote that. Then it asks for reason so what would I write there and then it asks for duration of visit. I’m confused as to what to write here since I’m obviously staying here now and it’s not letting me leave it blank
If your last entry was into Canada, select Canada & If you entered on another basis first, select Visitor, Study & Work. Also since you’re still in Canada and the form won’t accept blank but If it allows text “Present” or “Ongoing”.
Okay thank you. It also asks me if I hold a valid national identity document for my nationality of “Refugee - Article 1 of 1952 Convention”. So what should I provide there or should I just say no?
A refugee travel document is not a national ID and Select: NO.
