Could more people who also claimed asylum in 2023 please share their hearing dates for us to get a general idea on how the cases are moving

When did you apply for asylum? Yeah I’ve heard that it can take anywhere from 6-12 months after the letter before you receive a decision, and that’s if they don’t switch to regular hearing.

It just sucks because I made my claim in January 2023 so my processing time would end up being 4 years if not more.

What do you think will happen?

unfortunately, ur case will take longer. background check is crucial first step. they just completed background checks on those who claim in 2025 at Jan/Feb 2026.

Yes it should be. can u follow up with them? but if u live in different countries for many years, ur security check will take longer.

I just lived 6 month in Turkiye, my lawyer is not following up , She says we have to wait ang there is nothing we can do except waiting, how do you suggest to follow up?

Yes. Applied in Aug 2023. Got a file review letter in Oct 2024. Nothing since then

I applied in May 2023. First I was notified of file review process in 2024, and then back to a hearing. Still waiting for hearing date. IRB says 2023 files will be done by end of this year. Hopefully!

My Lawyer recieved a Disclosure of Documents prior to proceeding” email from ircc today. Does that mean I’ll get a hearing date soon?
