If one does the in person premium lounge thing - can you still opt for in person pickup of OCI instead of courier/mail ?

Yes absolutely worth it. If you are going to pay for courier and get photos your self then your are paying $60-$70 already and you have to fill your application and print outs yourself. Even then it’s not confirmed that they will accept your application. It’s better to pay premium lounge and you just need to get there and they will do everything for you. It includes filling your application, photos, courier service etc. these days they are forcing everyone to get premium service. So it’s just $30 or $40 you are paying extra.

What about a pickup in-person option for premium lounge when the OCI card is ready ? - my housing situation is weird when it comes to receiving mail / deliveries and I want to pickup such kinda important documents myself at the BLS office.

You can ask them to pickup in person. I chose delivery and I think they are pretty much responsible to deliver correctly. Just put your address correct.

For those who say acknowledged on tracker whats the exact message? On the BLS tracker it says its under process at the consulate and on the OCI tracker it says Under-process.

You mean just the originals right ? - They'll take any copies/scans and help fill out declaration forms etc. if needed, over there at the appointment, if i understood correct ?

Oh ! did you ask for in person pickup and they explicitly said it's not possible ? - even if i pay return courier chargers (included in fees for premium lounge), i would still prefer to pick it up in person if possible.

And do you know if it's the same for indian passport surrender certificate appointment at BLS as well ?

Yes, take all the original documents. They will print the declaration form you just need to print your name and signature.

Anyone who submitted at BLS Brampton, recieved their OCI ? My application is stuck at "dispatched from printing press on 26th Feb 2026" and no update thereafter. Just wondering how long does it usually take.
