I see. I can’t say anything about the hearing. My case was accepted in 9 months and 1 week.
Mines took 2 years from 2024 - 2026
I'm now wondering how soon ill see my kids .. I'm just praying and trusting God

your timeline of 2 years makes sense, especially since your case is less complex, which means it would be processed faster than a regular one.I did my refugee 2024 January,
Brown paper and documents taken April 2024 . ( Got Brown paper and work permit)
Less complex case September 2024 (no minister intervention )
December 2025 provide documents for file review. ( GOT EMAIL TO SEND EVIDENCE)
January 2026 positive decision
Work permit was to expire April 2026 .
I went to costi ( Sheridan mall) got help to renew it .February 4th 2026 .
By February month end I got approved for two more years February 2028.
Applied for PR march 2026 ( was waiting on my kids documents back home took me a while to get them ) that's why I waited so long to apply for PR .
Nothing since I applied in march for PR just waiting patiently ..
If I knew how to send documents with my name off I would send it ..
But I am a 2024 January refugee claimant - Now a Conventional Refugee..
I personally know persons i met at FCJ Refugee Centre...that dont get through way back from October 2023 ...

New applicants may get it in 16 months. However, it depends on their country of origin and background, both of which may cause delays.Even if someone has no issues personally, a country of origin considered high risk can still lead to delays.Ok understand. Do you think it will be the same for PR ?

I’m not playing anybody’s feelings…posted to encourage others…I think some people do not know how the asylum system work in Canada…They have 3 zones, one for Ontario area, one for Quebec and other provinces and the third zone for Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia…Because those in third zone get few asylum cases, they have fast processing times for hearing…I know 5 people from Saskatchewan and Alberta who got their hearing in less than 8 months…the fact is those who seek asylum in Quebec and Ontario have a long waiting times compared to those who seek asylum in Saskatchewan, Alberta and British ColumbiaAnyway, congratulations. Please don’t play with other people’s feelings. Please be humane.
They are currently processing July and August 2024 but he is likely to get it approved with this yearA friend of mine who applied in early 2024 got only an eligibility letter, and his lawyer told him he will get his final decision by the end of 2026 or in 2027. He is a signal applicant, no complex case, though.
And what about 2025 applicantPlease, how do I contact the Legal aid, am in Montreal, can you give me your legal aid referrer? Thanks
The moment he wrote as a christian i knew its fakeI am not tallking about Pr. please see his or her time line. Do you believe a refugee case can be heard and decided within 6 months? He or she said they got protected status in 6 months. Most applicants from 2022 have not even had their interview yet because of the backlog. To be honest, I have started to doubt the 2024 cases, but this update makes me feel foolish for believing such a myth.
I knew people at the beginning of 2022 with notice to appear for interview (to get the brown paper) until may 2023. Can you add the time waiting for the hearing, the answer. Collect papers and apply PR andd....get the PR. That post sounds fake for me.The moment he wrote as a christian i knew its fake
That’s a powerful testimony and yes, your timeline really is impressive. To everyone still waiting for their PR be encouraged. Stay strong in faith. Your testimony not far away, is coming. My story is testimony to all as a Christian…I arrived in Canada on January 2024 and applied for refugee status and attend my hearing
Hearing July 2024
Submitted PR application August 2024
Final approval March 2, 2026
Portal 1 March 5, 2026
Portal 2 March 6, 2026
ECOPR March 22, 2026
My pastor told me…IRCC will ignore all the long queues and process applications fo August 2024 and it came to pass…I give God the glory and praying anyone waiting for PR will get it soon…
Guys, why is it that almost all the July and August 2024 applicants who claim they got their PR are posting comments here and sharing timelines? I have been tracking the monthly inventory and processing numbers closely. IRCC issued only 200 decisions in February and 300 in March, and almost all of them were for 2022 applicants, except for a small number from January and February. So how did those people get their PR? Why are those cases not reflected in the inventory? The most likely answer is that these 2024 updates are fake. Someone seems to enjoy misleading others and hurting their feelings. IRCC appears to have paused because the 2025 quota has been reached. The new 2026 quota is expected to start in April, with around 5,000 PRs per month. If that happens, all 2023 applicants could receive their PR within about three months, since there are only around 20,000 of us. Please stay hopeful and do not let these people play with your feelings.
