Do you know if someone came to your local address in India to verify something or they just cleared police verification without it?

I gave my relatives phone number in my application. Police called them and visited them in person and completed the verification.

That was pretty fast for them to come the very next day. My timeline is similar to yours. Police came to my parents’ home on 12mar. The status online still shows police verification awaited. I’d applied at BLS Mississauga on 4Feb.

The status on mportal is now changed to `Application is under process at Indian Embassy/Consulate`

Do you have access to the details in the developer portal for your application? You might not if BLS filed your application for you. Wanted to check if the history in the portal says something like 'police verification was set to clear etc.'

Hi did you receive anything after that any update mine is exact same after verification done its changed from awaited to processing at indian embassy/consulate. I really need my passport urgently as of my upcoming travel

How long has it been since the status changed to 'processing at the consulate' after you got confirmation that police verification was cleared? Are you still within the 8 week timeframe?

Hi its been 3 days yet and also i submmited application on jan 27th 2026 and just pased the police verification on march 16th and now its processing at embassy/consulate. Its really slow in my case

The time before police clearance does not count for much. The consulate cannot do anything until your police clearance is cleared. Progress starts after. You should be getting an update early next week. But that update will be something like print initiated. I expect it to take another 2 weeks from here.

Mine was submitted on Jan 24th and it just got updated that police verification is completed and processing at consulate.

Consulate takes 20-21 working days (excluding police verification and excluding time it takes them to ack the application after BLS submission)

Hoping to get the passport by next week considering they stick to 20-21 working days
