Hello All,

I applied for work permit extension using the "applying from Outside canada" form but I am inside canada (I did so because of the new rule off not applying for work permit from inside Canada). The address I provided in the application is my Canadian address. I received a passport request but I'm not sure where I should send the passport. Any idea will be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

No issue with applying for a WP extension from within Canada the issue is with a new WP as a visitor. Would clarify that you are in fact in Canada and thought you couldn’t apply from within Canada.

Did you get your passport stamped and if yes how you get your workpermit physically?

Yes. I sent the passport to Ottawa and it got stamped. With the stamped visa, I booked a day trip to Cancun, Mexico and obtained my physical work permit at the Port of Entry. Basically, just left Canada for a night and returned. I hope this helps
