The part that security can take up to two years i dont think is correct, even if you are war torn country, it doesn't take two years because when you apply for refugee, before your hearing, they run a security check on you. Before COVID, the refugee PR used to be processed within 12 months, it's all just stupid politics and polices of immigration. Because some 2024 applicants are already getting their PR( i know few people who got it), meanwhile us 2023 applicants are past two years. Today, I lost my second job offer because of this delay. they single handedly just ruining lives. persoanlly cant wait to get once i get my canadian passport, im out of here . Everything runs backwards in this country .

I agree in all what you said but just a question, why they dont accept you with work permit? I had renew my work permit 3 times. When I got a job offer just asked me, are you PR or Work Permit? I said WP, and date of expiration. It is in Alberta. Is it different in other provinces? You should have the right to work with your WP.

Because those offers were from defence companies so you need to obtain security clearance which only PR and citizenship can obtain . Not WP

I didnt know. I got my police certificate and never have problem but maybe is different.
Im August 2023 applicant and Im suffering too because Im away from my family, more than 4 years away from my child. Let´s see if this year finally something happen. Let´s trust.

Hello, I am a June 2023 applicant. I spoke with an IRCC agent today, and she informed me that the security stage has not yet started on my file. She also mentioned that although the current processing time shows three months remaining, there is a strong possibility that my application may not be finalized within that timeframe.

She explained that the security stage can vary significantly - sometimes it takes as little as two weeks, and in other cases, it can take up to two years. She advised me to continue living my life and remain positive, as there is nothing that can be done to expedite this stage of the process.

Police clearance requested from Australia: Sep, 2023 (submitted everything within time frame)
Pre arrival/ Eligibility received: June 20 /19, 2025
Medical requested: Jan 28, 2026 (even though it was waived at first place and was passed according to GCMS notes)
Final decision on GC key: Feb 12, 2026
P1 received: Feb 17, 2026 ( submitted on Feb 24, coz I had a trip planned out of Canada for 5 days, submitted information as soon as I arrived)
P2 received: March 02, 2026 (submitted same day)
Waiting for COPR now.

It took 3 years to come this close. My time frame is delayed but I took advantage of the time, travelled outside canada twice and had no issues, it helps with waiting game. Nothing we can do to get our applications fast track. Try not to request GCMS notes or MP requests, it doesn’t do any good.

Thats what happened on my GC key, nothing was started and all of the sudden I received medical request and within 20 days Final decision/P1/P2 came. I’m waiting for COPR now

Super for you , Feb, super delayed. Most of Feb 2023 already have PR. Im August. Looks far for me

That is not accurate. We have been waiting for 1-1.5 year after pre-arrival

same, at this point just waiting for passport so i can leave. I would leave now but i dont wanna waste the last 4 years ive spent in this country for nothing

I know things could be frustrating. I am also in your shoes having to leave my family expecially my baby. Canada however has given us an opportunity to live. Some of us escaped untold missery and some of us could have died a painful death but Canada rescued us and gave us a reason to live. They owed us nothing cos we were not born here. Some of us were betrayed by our own country and people. Hearing you say you are just here till you get your passport and then you will leave really hurt to hear. As someone who Canada has rescued and protected, I feel sad, muchless Canadians. These are the issues Canadians have with immigration which makes getting PR delayed.

theres nothing wrong in leaving. We also worked and paid taxes like others with fewer benefits, keep that in mind. Yes we are protected here but mentally, we are not protected at all. Many refugees have severe mental health issues because of the unfair immigration system. I cant wait to leave.

what medical request if you dont mind me asking? is it medical exam

Guys…where do you see your portal 1 and portal 2 mail…is it your email, IRCC Gc key account or the IRCC website in which I submitted my permanent residence application

That portal is only for send the application. Never use it again. You need a IRCC Secure Account, can login using your GC Key and link your file.
About the portal I heard it is by email, not in the portal But as I still not receive it, I cant confirm about it.
