PLEASE HELP, I applied on June 12, 2023, but I have not received a biometric request, even though my GCMS notes indicate that biometrics are marked as completed. I would also like advice regarding my spouse’s status. His dependent open work permit (OWP) will expire on February 2, 2026. He currently also holds a study permit, which is valid until November 30, 2026. Since the current inland dependent processing time is approximately 7 months, I would like to know whether it is better to apply for an extension of his work permit or remain on the study permit.

BIOMETRICS:
Request Date: 2025/10/09

when we call ircc then they tell background check in progess but in atip/gcms notes security not started i think they both are same

Not the same. Background they made with biometrics. Security, they request info to other countries like New Zealand, Australia, USA ( I forget the others) if you have a criminal file.

Copying above timeline from another post, if we look at these notes, background check is the last step after criminality check. So here I assume, I have passed the criminality check and now they are doing background check.
Unfortunately I cant see anything in the potal because I used a representative to apply for PR.

You should go ahead and apply for a work permit if your spouse needs to work full time. Otherwise on study permit is fine.

Also, about the biometric. There might be chances they picked up your initial biometrics in their system when you gave while filing for the claim. Otherwise they wouldn't process yiur eligibility if there was a problem with the biometric.

MANY THANKS FOR YOUR TIME And thank you so much for your suggestion.
