Hey All,

I am kind of similar situation like you. I am currently outside of country but my oath ceremony scheduled on Apr 11. I just want to know how many months can I delay? Because my plan to come back end of Oct. Can I delay that long? Please let me know if you know anything.

Thanks

Almost no one is being approved. Best advice is to assume it won't happen and that you will need to return to Canada to take the oath.
I got this email:
Good day,

Thank you for your response. Considering your present circumstances, you can submit a request to the Registrar of Citizenship to take the oath of citizenship by video from outside of Canada.

These requests are being considered as
exceptional cases, and a decision on your request could result in a considerable delay in scheduling your ceremony. Registrar decision could take up to 8 weeks. In the event that your request is approved,

Should you still wish to pursue this request, please reply to this email acknowledging the points above and tell us

· your present extenuating circumstances and reasons for requesting to take the oath from outside of Canada

· Your anticipated return date to Canada

· Date you were last in Canada

· Your choice of citizenship certificate (paper or E-Certificate)

Well, you decide whether you want to proceed this way, or would prefer to return to Canada to take the oath (they imply will be faster, but no details).

If the former: follow the instructions.
