Had my Oath taking ceremony on 19th Nov 2025
Was able to download the citizenship certificate on 21st Nov 2025 (today)

Here's my timeline:

AOR - 4th Nov 2024
Citizenship Test email received on 28th Dec 2024
Citizenship Test taken - 16th Jan 2025 - passed 19/20
Citizenship Test result was invalidated due to technical reasons - 18th Jan 2025
IRCC sent email that my test will be rescheduled and I have to take it in a center physically and not online
IRCC schedules test for March 19th at a center close to my current address - IRCC emailed this on 5th March 2025
Since I was out of the country, I immediately responded I cannot attend this and asked for rescheduling it to which they agreed.
They asked after when I will be available and I replied to them my date.
Got back to Canada in April/May. Replied to the email asking to be scheduled for the test at next available slot.
No response - Followed up with another email in June
No response - raised web form in July
No response - raised another web form in August
No response - raised another web for in September
Sent multiple emails during these 4 months with no response at all
Called IRCC but they only said your application is in queue and it will be processed
IRCC sends email that test is scheduled for 22nd Oct 2025
Citizenship Test completed on 22 Oct 2025.
IRCC sends email that Citizenship ceremony is scheduled on 19th Nov 2025 - 6th Nov 2025
Citizenship Ceremony completed - 19th Nov 2025
Citizenship Certificate was available for download on 21st Nov 2025

What is LPP? I don't know when my background was completed. But as far as I can remember, it was completed farily early on in the process. Prohibitions completed after the test I think.

Still waiting on Citizenship ceremony. No updates since Nov 1 for either me or my wife.
I requested GCMS notes for my wife and got it last week. The latest notes say that 'Citizenship has been granted' and pending oath. I havent requested one for myself yet but I have LPP, Background and test marked as complete.

Do they typically take this long to schedule a ceremony? We had requested an online oath ceremony.

Why do they take so long? Have you been able to reach out to IRCC for any clarification or updates on the timeline on when this will happen?
This must be very frustrating for you (I have been waiting for 1.5 months and I am already annoyed that the oath email hasn't come through yet )

Did you submit your application from within Canada or outside of Canada?

I live in the US and submitted my application by November 2024. I received my Acknowledgment of Receipt (AOR) on November 28, 2024, and left Canada in May 2025. My application status is as follows: 'Background & Prohibitions' is in progress, and everything else is completed.

Just the IRCC agent confirmed over the call that my application is non-routine and will take a long time. She can't tell the reason as its stuck in Background & Prohibitions. At the moment, I just have to wait until it comes by itself.

Got GCMS Notes twice but nothing changed, due date for Language, Backgraound, LPP is 30 Nov 2025 but I haven't seen any update even after passing this date

Submitting the application from within Canada is mandatory. That's likely why your application was flagged. They are OK with people taking test from outside Canada but when you sign and submit the application, you must be physically present within Canada.

Initially, I thought so but there is no such restriction published anywhere by IRCC.
