Thanks for your reply...Really appreciate it!No , if you submitted new application before current one expired, you are good . You don't need to show any documentation to prove your status.

You can use same if everything is same , your Teer code , job , duties however I would suggest you to apply for new one as you will get another 2 years rather than getting one year.@Miss bee I have a question regarding a situation. I applied for PR last October 2024 and I am currently on a closed work permit, which was approved in February. However, due to my passport's expiry, instead of receiving a 2-year permit, I was only granted a 1-year permit. Since my work permit will expire next year, do I need to apply for another employment offer number (LMIA EXEMPT WORK PERMIT ) OR should i use the same number?
No issue at all .Hi @Miss bee , I just realized I signed my schedule 4 form without including my middle name, will this be an issue or will it affect getting my AOR? Thanks again.
If the IRCC tracker shows COPR details (FD, COPR number, expiry date) and GCMS notes indicate the application was approved before that COPR expiry, but you never received a PPR email (for outland) or portal instructions (for inland), your PR is not automatically cancelled on the COPR expiry date, but you also generally cannot travel or land using an expired COPR/visa. In most cases, the “COPR details” you see in the tracker are tied to your medical expiry or passport validity and represent an intended COPR validity window, but until IRCC actually sends PPR or portal emails, that COPR is not practically usable. If that internal COPR validity passes without IRCC action, an officer has a few options: they might (1) review the file, request updated medicals or documents if something has expired, and then issue a new COPR/visa validity, effectively giving you a fresh date; or (2) if too much time has passed, documents are outdated, or program rules have changed, they could let the approval lapse and close/refuse the application instead of extending. IRCC’s public line is that they do not simply “extend” COPRs on request, and you must normally travel before the date on the COPR, but officers do have discretion to re-issue or re-date COPRs where IRCC delay or medical expiry is the main problem, especially if the file was clearly approved before the expiry; there is no guarantee, though, and each case is handled individually. For people who see FD/COPR details in the tracker but still have no PPR/portal while that date is approaching or has passed, the usual practical step is to use the webform (or your representative/MP, if in Canada) to notify IRCC that the COPR validity in the tracker has expired with no instructions and ask whether they plan to re-issue or if any new documents (medicals, passport, etc.) are needed to finalize the landing.@ Miss Bee, Please kindly help us explain what will happen if the COPR details on IRCC tracker got expired and there was no P1 or PPR instruction from IRCC, and GCMS note shows application is approved before the expiration of COPR date. What will happen to the PR application? will IRCC extend the COPR date or application will be cancelled.
It seems alot of people have gotten FD with COPR details on IRCC tracker but yet to get further instructions from IRCC.
I'm in the same boat since 12th Nov. People from other forums talking about taking 2 months these days.Hey folks, does anyone know or has any idea how long it takes IRCC to review address and photo once submitted on the portal? Recently got my P1, and P2 after 2 days; both submitted the same day. After P2 in portal the status shows as "in review with IRCC" since 17th Nov. Just trying to figure out how long it would've taken them to approve it.
Individuals experiencing different timelines. Asked a couple of friends, one said that received in a month but the card was mailed pretty quick, less than a week.. The other one said received in less than a week but mailing took time, almost a month. Called IRCC yesterday, they said there's no specific timeline for this reviewing process. I think individual experiences help more than IRCC itself because they are not willing to give some specific information in most cases, therefore trying to hear from people who have had it before. And the reason I was asking because Christmas and New Year's Eve are on the doorstep, believe IRCC officers will be on holiday mode. Would be great to get it before ChristmasI'm in the same boat since 12th Nov. People from other forums talking about taking 2 months these days.
Not sure cause I'm also looking for the answer.
I was in a similar situation. Ideally you should start the process atleast two months before your permit is expiring to give you sufficient time. The employer portal process shoudn't take your employer more than a day to do so it depends on how long they take to actually get it done.Hey,
My PGWP expires in March 2026. But I have an ongoing Non-Express Entry PR application since Feb 2024 because of the comprehensive background check we are still waiting for, and my SINP is based on employer (employer restricted), so I am eligible to apply closed work permit. My questions are:
1. When should I start a process? When should I ask my employer to apply IRCC employer portal to get a support letter? Usually, how long does it take?
2. Should I apply for an employer-specific work permit?
If you have a similar experience, please shed some light. Any input highly appreciated.
