i have already looked at the applications portal. It seems i only need to upload photo, passport, NOD letter, my birth cert, my marriage cert. Don't I need to upload like my resume, my education documents?

Just follow the instructions. Remember this is not an economic immigration program.

Hello, I applied for PR as a protected person August 2024, got AOR and biometric request in Dec 2024, submitted same month, and in May 2025 I was requested to fill out and send imm5476 5406 0008, passport copy and other documents for my minor dependant living abroad. And now both my application and baby is in progress as was advised by IRCC when I called, and he does have a UCI numbers.
Just wondering if this is the normal process for applicants with minor dependant abroad ,as I did think my PR will be issued before my dependants application is processed abroad. Anyone with similar experience to walk me through the process.
Would appreciate.

They received documents and add to the file. When You get your PR, they Will continue with them. You must passed at least all stages before they contact them again.

Hello Members,

After I submitting PR after getting the positive decision from my refugee claim, is it possible to apply the visitor visa for my spouse and kid to come Canada while their PR applications (outside Canada) are in the process with mine??? Seeking the valuable advise. Thank you.
Yes — it is possible for your spouse and child to apply for a visitor visa to come to Canada while their permanent residence (PR) applications are still being processed—even though there are some important caveats and risks.

While your PR application in process, a visitor visa officer will assess whether there’s a genuine temporary stay. The fact that the spouse/child have a pending PR application could be seen as an “anchor” tying them to Canada, which may undermine the assumption they’ll leave when required.

It helps if you already received an Acknowledgement of Receipt (AOR) for the PR application before they apply for the visitor visa. That strengthens the visitor visa application for faster processing.

Make sure you submit all standard visitor visa requirements: valid passport, proof of funds, strong reason for visit, etc. IRCC still must be satisfied that the visitor visa criteria are met.

Good Luck

Dont want to disappoint you just sharing my experience . My husband and daughter, minor. Back home. I applied two times for visitor visa for them, after submitted the PR app. Strong application, funds, work letter, even a copy of AOR. But they refused twice. Explanation: Family ties in Canada.

You can try to apply but not lay your heart on that. I suggest to meet in a third country while waiting for your PR.

Keep strong!

Family ties in Canada? Or family ties in your home country? Did you try applying for just one person? If the issue is family ties maybe leaving a family member behind and applying might help.

If the mother , me, is here. Husband and daughter come to canada as visitor, even if I swear it, immigration officer will never believe that they will back to our home country.
