There was a 3rd committee meeting on C12 today. Next one 20th. Likely amendments coming pre 3rd and during the 3rd reading. Amended bill could pass in the spring. Tariff relief coming for local businesses meaning someone has to foot the bill. C12 or C2 not really on the agenda given lack of progress on the usca trade. Struggling to attract talent.

If anything there will be a push to resolve c12 because of cusma/usmca talks.

Relief from Canada to businesses. Government absorbing it. (Taxpayers eventually)

Americans are in favour of Trumps tariffs- small pain for long gain. The way the Can government is seeking deals with other countries including India(after the BC citizen case), they don’t see US deal happening until Canada makes huge concessions. And it has nothing to do with border security. Safest border it always was.

Rough 3 years ahead. DJT won’t budge.

It’s a moderation problem.

Being anti immigrant is becoming popular lately. I’ve had Uber driving PhDs complain about too many people. Even some who’ve just landed are talking like they have a lock on good immigration. The last people who should talk. Politicians and their appointees are playing ping pong at the expense of people who have no rights or least thought about.

Congratulations,I had tears in my eyes after reading this. With processing time constantly increasing and me still stuck at AIP, your words felt like a light I really needed. Thank you for giving hope when it’s been so hard to hold on.
