Reference to the The recent TR to PR pathway announcement in Oct 2025, can anyone point to any resources where I can get more information?
I am on a closed WP and had filed EE profile and self employed in Canada.
Is this TR to PR helpful to me in any way to get a PR?
Thank you

Did you apply for the original TR to PR pathway program in 2021 to be eligible for work permit extension? The extension is for those applicants. Are you under SUV program since on a closed work permit but self employed? Can only work for employer.

Thank you for the reply.

No I had not applied through the original TR PR program. Had come on C-11 3 years back to setup a new business. I intend to continue running it so started to apply for a PR if I want to continue and expand it. PR pathways have dwindled for me to nothing so was exploring options.

No details available at this time so impossible to say. Might help you and might not.

So as per the link, it is for people who applied through the program and their PR has yet to be approved. Also you have not been been invited for PR to be eligible for bridging work permit. What is your CRS score because self employment doesn't count unless you get T4.

Why have you not got PR through SUV?

CRS is very low at 371. Did not apply through SUV as it was too subjective, required sizable fee to the organizations and took a very long time. As I had a viable business plan I applied via C-11 LMIA exempt pathway. CRS us low because of age (can't be 21 after 30 years of professional experience and a Masters :) )
Just trying to see if there is any sliver of a possibility to go for a PR as not only have I invested my savings but will face pretty difficult circumstances for myself & family if I need to return :-(

IMO you have to find a path somehow through the existing rules. Any announcements IRCC makes for next year almost certainly won't help you. Or make preparations to leave.

Unless you become fluent in French then chances of ITA through Express Entry are nil.

True. Trying just that time find a pathway through existing policies, but none so far.

Have you learned French to a CLB7 level yet? If not, that should be your next step if you are serious about staying here.

No, have not. Not enough time to go into that as I am already on implied status. Had some probability to be picked as a senior executive and get 200 points on LMIA points but that vanished. Now just hoping to either get picked up for PNP or get an LMIA job, if that ever might be possible !

Implied status for what reason? PNPs are competitive with specific NOCs and scores being selected.

Before I reply, really appreciate you taking the time to converse and give details - thank you.

With C-11, I got an Employer specific WP to work in my own company as self employed. After 3 years that WP expired this October. I had submitted the renewal well in time for my self and family. So on implied status.
Yes, PNP's are competitive but since I have the NOC in the list of some provinces ( Information technology) was just hoping against hope.

So you know that your work permit extension will be approved. You need to research provinces that are still inviting IT NOCs. Many are focused on healthcare, trades etc. Without a job offer in the province where you are eligible then chances are low. Or high wage LMIA where employer cannot hire a Canadian/PR.
