Hi,

I have received ITA for my parents based on application in 2020, however, now they don't want to come due to some health issues. I wanted to understand if this can have some adverse effect on me as an sponsor (any short term or long term repurcussions). I am sorry if this is a stupid question but just wanted to be sure.

Thanks a lot
What is your additional document request?

Hi folks - IRCC sent email today requesting additional docs. However, I am confused. The letter was addressed to my spouse - the sponsor but has mentioned the following:

"<Mother's name>
• Proof of Relationship (DEP): As proof of relationship to your spouse please provide the Aadhaar and Voter’s ID card for yourself and your spouse. NOTE: Affidavits are not acceptable as proof of relationship. If the document originally issued by a government authority was not in English or French, please provide a certified copy of both the document in the original language [birth/marriage/divorce/death certificate] along with a certified translation in English or French."

My Q is since the letter is addressed to my spouse, I am confused if they are asking the Aadhar card and Voter ID for herself and her mom and their proof of relationship? Or, are they asking for proof of relationship between her mom and dad? We had already submitted their marriage certificate along with original application so not sure why they need this? Dad is principal applicant, Mom is dependant and my spouse is sponsor.

Looks like some of us got additional document request but it was for what we had already submitted? Aren't IRCC not checking the application fully and asking for the document again? Feels like waste of time and energy.

I got an email asking for additional documents. Some makes sense, but others do not.

Proof of Relationship (Sponsor): Your birth certificate has been received as proof of your
relationship to the Principal Applicant and Dependent. If the document originally issued
by a government authority was not in English or French, please provide a certified copy
of both the document in the original language [birth/marriage/divorce/death certificate]
along with a certified translation in English or French. Additional information is required.
Please provide a copy of your <previous country> Passport and old school records.
So they received and accepted my (sponsor's) birth certificate. But this is not the very original one from the 90s, things were digitized and this was re-issued in the 2010s.

So they just want my old (non-canadian) passport to cross check?
Original birth certificate and old school records might be hard to track down, but is that what they want?

Not sure about this one. Even if I fill it out manually, the information in there would be the same. Not sure why they see it as incomplete.
Only reason I can see is my mother's parent's birthdates are unknown. In the online form, it only accepted dates (not texts), so I left it blank. In the letter of explanation, I mentioned that the dates are unknown, but I'm not sure if they read through the letter.

Resume (for Dependant): It appears that the Dependant’s Curriculum Vitæ (CV)
/Resume has not been provided. Please provide the most current CV/Resume for the
Principal Applicant and all dependants aged 18 and over. Please ensure your
CV/Resume includes information since the age of 18 and all the details of any
employment and volunteer positions held.
My mistake, I put both my father's and mother's resume in the same file. Clearly they did not read through it, and maybe didn't scroll down to my mother's section.

Hi I also received an invite, we sent all the paperwork and we received a notification that was declined because one of the forms was not properly filled out
Can I appeal? Or do you have any affordable lawyer that could guide me on this?

sorry to hear that, when did you submit the documents? Did you receive additional documents request before they decline you? Did they mention which form was not properly filled out? usually they will give you a chance to resubmit the form

Like @KEN2000 said, usually they send additional forms request and will say if something is not right and give you a chance. Can you copy/paste what IRCC wrote on the email?

Hi - today morning - I got 2 emails from CPC Mississauga requesting some additional documents (which I had uploaded when I submitted my PGP application). Then within 2 hours, I got 2 more emails from CPC Mississauga with the subject line "Recall: Citizenship and Immigration Canada - CPCM - Communication to client".

Does this mean I don't need to submit the documents they asked for?
This also happened to me. They requested what i have already submitted and then they recalled the message in 2 mins...
