How I can request for GCMS?

Have you received AOR? What is the goal in applying for GCMS notes when you only applied for PR in July 2025? If you are experiencing normal processing and the notes will not provide any further important information about your application what is the point? Although technically it is a right it has a cost to taxpayers and diverts resources which could be used for things like processing. It should really be used for as a strategic tool when you are experiencing unusual processing times for example.

I just called to ircc they said they are reviewing my application will issue AOR after review complete and give temparory number.can I connect to my profile with that application number before AOR ?

Hello everyone, I got my temporary AOR with the X in September 25 and I’m yet to get the permanent AOR since then. Does it takes this long to receive the permanent AOR to be able to link to online account?? Any helpful response would definitely be appreciated.

Yes this is very slow process. You know your application was received so just be patient. Processing is going to take around 7 years so there will be long periods of time (years) when you hear nothing and nothing changes with your application. As long as you can work, study, access healthcare, etc. in Canada would focus on daily life or you may drive yourself insane monitoring your PR application.

Hi good people,

This might be an interesting event to anyone who is concerned about the impact of the recent changes in IRCC processing time (especially for family reunification)

The email from RFR (Refugee Family Reunification Project which is known for its advocacy for faster reunification and better processes) reads as below.

As you may have heard, IRCC has switched to a new method of publishing processing times for Protected Persons, which makes clear that the government is planning for people who apply today to wait EIGHT YEARS to get permanent residence.

The processing times for family members abroad are not (yet) posted according to the new method, but we know that family members always wait longer than the Protected Person in Canada.

CCR and the Refugee Family Reunification Project are organizing a joint virtual meeting to strategize in response to this new information.

These processing times are shocking and take some time to absorb, but they also have the advantage of making clear the implications of the government’s decision to cut the immigration levels. Hopefully we can mobilize a strong reaction!

The meeting is next Wednesday 29 October at:

2pm Eastern
3pm Atlantic
1pm Central
12 noon Mountain
11 am Pacific
