Hi

I received a pre-arrival letter today from IRCC and then couple of hours later, I was requested to provide a detailed summary of your education, qualifications, and work experience from the age of 18 to the present.

I am a bit puzzled regarding the above request as 1) this is a lot of information to provide covering last 20 years and 2) mostly provided in the spousal application from via form IMM5669.

So is this is a regular request at this stage or is it specific to my case where I'm assuming they couldn't get the whole picture around my education and career from the detail I provided hence the ask.

Just wondering if anyone can provide their perspective on it. Also, what the pre-arrival mean in terms of the application outcome. Thanks :-)

Pre-arrival letter is purely procedural and not related to the end of processing. If for spousal sponsorship somewhat rare but not out of the norm. Often there may be a gap somewhere in your previous background information that triggers the request.
